What Kind of Bug Is This?
Ok, I recently moved to a new house in late January. It has tons of woods so we are always surrounded by bugs/roaches/spiders/etc. Well, both me and my husband have been seeing this tiny little white and black spotted bug. I mean it is really, REALLY tiny. Hardly noticeable. It is white with black polka dots. Well my husband complained about 2 months ago of one biting him. He said it hurt really bad and stung for a while after then went away. It never even swelled up or showed any signs of being bitten. Well today, not even 10 minutes ago actually, i was bitten by the same bug on our porch. Did the same, hurt real bad, stung for about 5 minutes afterward, now nothing. Does anyone have any idea what this bug is? Thanks for any help. Ive probably seen more different species of bugs the six months we've been here than ive seen my whole life.

No, don't know what it is BUT you can call the closest entimology (sp) dept. usually located in bigger cities or university towns & they will tell you what it is or the local library, maybe look it up even here on the internet, since you have kidz you REALLY need to know in case of an allergic reaction to the tiny critters bite.

Does it fly? It sounds like white socks. They are tiny flies that give really awful bites! They are very very tiny. The bite on me will swell up and it is quite itchy. Different people react in different ways. If your bug is not a flying bug then I have no idea!

I would take a picture of it and contact the Entomology department at my local university and see what they say!

go to myownpestcontol.com. they have everything the pros use its way cheaper than orkin or any other pest control company plus you can make the formulasweaker or stronger. we had problems with those japanese lady bugs they bit also, and now they dont even land on the house I sprayed all over inside and out up and down. they key is to stay vigulant (sp) and cover your garage even if its detached. gl

Kristina's website should be good. You search by color/number of legs/state you're in. Black and white in MS with 6 legs yielded 10 results.
ADDED: Is it a "VARIED CARPET BEETLE?" Google it and look at images.
