What Jeans Will Fit My Shape?

I'm just catching up on my emails and saw your request for some nice jeans. On Oprah a few months ago, they were talking about jeans that fit a fuller bottom and didn't show any crack. They are Lee Slender Secret jeans and you can get them at JC Penney. I am a size 10 with a fuller rear end and was skeptical, but I got some anyway. They are the BEST jeans ever! They stretch and move with you and the waist band doesn't bunch up and bind.

I will never buy anything else and will be buying more after the holidays are over. Hope you find them as comfortable as I do!

Lucky Brand Jeans - best jeans - no others will fit me - not even the most expensive brand jeans - The Lucky jeans stretch, so buy them tight fitting.

Have you tried Anne Taylor Loft? If not, try the "Julie" style. I think they have a bit more room in the hip and leg areas. Good luck!

Go to Nordstroms and get fitted. I am petite and wear about 1 size up from my 15 yr old daughter (size 1)

We love guess, true religon and I have a pair of old levis that are perfect as well.

With some designer brands, we can both wear them. You can find some of these at neimans last call as well.

I'm 5'7" and was 160-5 before pregnant. The Gloria vanderbilts at Costco have been my favorite. The price was right and they didn't gap in the back when I bend down to tie kids shoe laces or whatever.

Sounds like you are my size. I find that "rider" jeans from Walmart, fit great and are very comfortable. They have a little stretch to them also.

New York and Company has great jeans. I'm a 14 and love the boyfriend cut. I used to wear Steve & Barry's Sarah Jessica Parker's Wicked jeans and they showed your booty. These DO NOT. They fit a woman's shape. And they have boot cut jeans that are not boyfriend cut that I also like. Their sales are amazing and they have tons of coupons! Hope you get some good jeans...

My mom's shape is very similar to what you describe and she swears by "Not Your Daughter's Jeans". She's found them at pricey boutiques, but says they are well worth the price. Good luck! B.

I was told to go to the mall and have one of those young kids fit you at Buckle. The lady who told me this was at the time in her 40's and she was VERY doubtful, but boy did the kids there impress her and know how to fit someone into jeans. They are more in price but she said that it is worth having an awesome fitting pair of jeans.....

I am really tall but have the same body shape you have described. A little smaller in the hips but bigger in the waist. The opposite of most women. WHile I am grateful to have skinny hips and thighs it is impossible to find jeans. I, however, have found some that I LOVE. Vera Wang (I bought mine at Kohls)"SImply Vera" boot leg jeans are awesome and moderately priced. They are not low rise, which fall right off of us having a bigger waist than hips. They are more of a mid-rise but definitely NOT mom jeans. I was so relieved to find them. They have a little bit of spandex so they are super comfortable and fit well. They don't change to much when washing and drying either.

Believe it or not, the best jeans I've found are under $20 and at Wal-Mart. They are a type of Levi's which I normally can never wear. You and I are the same size (except I'm currently wearing maternity jeans!), and I love these jeans at Wal-Mart. No gap at all.

I have to agree with one reader who said the Levi's jeans from Wal-Mart. I know, it sounds crazy that the best fitting jeans are from wal-mart, but I have the same type of body as you described and that's what fits me best too. I have a "boy body" (slim hips but wide waist and no "saddle bags" thighs). These jeans give me space in the waist but also aren't baggy in the thighs. Plus they have generous length, which I like because I like to wear them with boots or stacked heels.

Gee, I've got to laugh EVERY TIME I see anyone wearing hip huggers who doesn't realize they need to be about 15lbs under weight in order to look good in that style. They eventually learned in the 70's and now a whole new generation has to learn it all over again, but they seem to not mind so much letting the flab hang out over the top these days. (Yuck!) As for your question, Wrangler, stretch, natural waist, boot cut or straight leg, size 12 or 14 if you go for non stretch. You will look and feel wonderful.

K., your shape sounds similar to mine. I love Not Your Daughter's Jeans. I bought my first pair at Cynthia Eliot in McKinney, and while at the time I balked at the price, they still look and feel great two years later. These are great because they feel like a comfy hug around your middle; no binding, no riding up, no falling down...just right. Check out a Nordstrom Rack if you can--I got a pair of capris and black denim ones for $30 each. They're made in the USA, too!

I also had good luck on a lazy day when I didn't want to trek to Rack...I went to the Levi's outlet in Allen and tried on their "curvy" fit. They're lower-waisted, but they don't reveal too much when I'm on the ground with the kiddos.

I have seen your shape and, well....enough said. But I love ya anyway!!!

If you don't have luck with the information so far, try Land's End. They let you build a model of yourself and you can see how the things will fit. The only downfall is that if they don't fit, you will have to pay shipping to return them.

My body shape is NOT like yours (I have the smaller waist and bigger hips), but I love my Land's End jeans.
