What Is Wrong with Me?? Anyone Else Have These Dreams?

My DH and I have a very healthy, active love life. We have been married 10 yrs and we are intimate at least 3-4 times a week. I’m still very much attracted to him and I think about him a lot throughout the day and vice versa. He emails me and calls me throughout the day at work just saying stuff like ”I miss you”. I'm still so in love with my husband!

Last night we were at Home Depot and as he is pointing out new refrigerators to me I’m thinking to myself “Man is he ever sexy! Can’t wait until tonight after the kids go to bed”. OK You get my point. We still want each other. We hug and kiss all the time. We still hold hands.

Here is the thing = for the past several months I’ve been having dreams about other men. It is no one in particular. It could be a handsome man I saw at the store, a movie star or a news anchor I saw briefly while catching up on the news. It’s so weird! Last night I had a very erotic dream about me and another man. When I woke up I was feeling so guilty!

Please tell me I’m not the only one! LOL!
Does anyone else have these kinds of dreams? Is there something wrong with me?????
What do you think is going on?

What can I do next?

Lol, yes it has happen to me too, most of them with men I don't know but once it was Ricky Martin (yommmy), even after I knew he was gay (good thing he wasn't in my dream, lol).
I also notice too that it happens when we are very active and not really when in a dry season.

Yeah, it happens to me too! LOL! I sometimes feel guilty too but the key is just to NOT tell hubby, or at least pretend that he was the man in the dreams and give the details! ;)

You're married, not dead. There is not a thing wrong with you.

Of course you're going to be physically attracted to other men. And why not? They're cute! It doesn't mean that you want to take them home and bed with them right? It's human nature to find others beautiful, attractive, hot, sexy, whatever.

You can't really control what happens in your dreams so no need to feel guilty. When you have these dreams do you wake up and think, "Wow, I need to leave my husband and go start a relationship with hottie Home Depot guy?" I'm going to guess not.

No harm. Stop feeling guilty. I bet your husband has had a dream about the hot weather girl sometime in his life.

And...I just wish that when I had dreams like this, the men who I think are hot (i.e. my celebrity crushes) would show up and not just random dudes LOL.

I have these dreams fairly often. Sometimes about men I know, and sometimes about men I've never seen. I think it's a perfectly normal and healthy part of an active sex life. It doesn't mean you actually want to have sex with these men. Dreams are just our subconscious running wild while we sleep. Enjoy them!!

This happened to me ALOT when I was pregnant - blamed it on the hormones. Still happens from time to time - wish it happened more often - enjoy it! I tell my husband sometimes and we have a good laugh.

OK, my hubby and I have been married 13+ (it's really almost 15 years but 13 is my luck # and I already feel OLD enough so I stopped counting, kind of :) and I TOTALLY could have written your whole post!

So here is my take on it:

Enjoy it!

Maybe its because we still have such and active 'love' life? I say love because its not just about the sex...I still feel VERY connected to my hubby in every way! And this is our minds way of recognizing we still have needs and wants and we are being satisfied all week long? IDK? Dreams are weird! Whatever the reason, its a dream sis...we can not control them therefor we should not be made to feel guilt over them!!!

~For the most part, mine are strangers with no real faces....sometimes familiar faces pop up and it is weird and causes me pause...but what are you gonna do?

And what Tracy K. said...

I can tell yout that the more sexual we are, the more sexual my dreams are. When we are in a dry spell, I never have sexual dreams. But if he puts it on me just right, than we go into a highly active spell and I wake up panting often. WIth mine it's usually a 3some. Not because I actually want a woman in bed with us, but because that's on the "approved" list of fantasies. Lord knows he wouldn't mind and that topic comes up a lot in pillow talk when I'm trying to send him over the edge. So, makes sense that when I go to sleep in bliss, I wake up fantasizing about the last thing we were getting hot to. So, i dont think it means you want to cheat. It just means you are supercharged by your man and loving his very manly essence!

I haven't had this dreams for the past years but I can tell you that is perfectly normal as you say you have a wonderful sex life , and sometimes even sex dreams with close friends it doesn't mean your mind is thinking like that , I have read dream books and most of the sex dreams mean another different thing than sex....
I don't see a reason to feel guilty because you say is with man you don't know so is subconscious ......
I hope when I have a 10 year marriage I can say the same .....

There was a time many years ago (at least 5 yrs) that I had a dream like this with a very good friend of my husbands. OMG when I woke up from this dream I was super embarassed and almost ashamed and I didnt tell my hubby for months and then... it happens again maybe 6 months after the first one. I told my husband about this one and thought WTH is wrong with me. Well let me just say that about a year after the second time I swear it happened again. Like I said its been at least 5 years now that this all happened but man was I freaked out. We still keep in touch with this person and its not weird or anything (obviously 'he' doesnt know about it) but the craziest thing about all of this is that I do not have even one ounce of me that sees this person as attractive or sexy. Nothing. I have absolutely no idea where these dreams came from or why the heck it happened 3 freakin times but it did and I just laugh it off. I think what has happened to you is totally normal. Now for me, not so much LOL
Congrats btw for being so close with your husband. Thats an awesome feeling.

From what I know about studying dreams, having a sexual dream about someone does NOT mean that you want to have sex with them! It usually is representative of something else. If it's a celebrity, it's a desire for fame or represents "moving up" in the world. If it's a co-worker it could just mean good working chemistry or a desire to do well in business.

Don't read too much into it. Dreams are our subconscious' way of solving problems or trying out different scenarios. Don't take them literally!

Occasionally I have one of those dreams. Don't know what it means. do YOU want other people. Or do you think it is like a distraction so you are not overly charged obsessed with your hubby? My husband says he doesn't care who I have dreams of/with he is the one to reap the rewards... hehe. I think your hubby reaps the rewards there too.

First of all you are not alone. This is very common especially in men, although most will not admit it. Nothing wrong going on. Enjoy them, they are just dreams only a very small portion of our real life activity comes through our dreams. I have been married for almost 10 years now and we had my brother in law live with us for almost a year, Very handsome man, but so is my hubby. I would have these dreams of him all the time, wake up thinking i had a org*****, the gulit got to me. I did end up tell my hubby, (we are like you guys in the same fashion). He laughed at it and said i know you find him attractive, but in the real world remember it's me that loves you. I research it and found out it was just a dream of something I knew would never happen and it made it exciting and that is why I dreamed of it. Since he moved out they stopped. once in awhile I will have one of a famous person, or someone I may have spoken to that was attractive. It keeps romance at a high level and we both love it. I am sure he dreams of others too, he just does not tell me and it's all good. Dream on!!! It's only a dreams that takes us away from our everyday lives...

Don't worry about it. I have dreams like that too. Only mine are stranger that what you're having. My are about movie characters. Not the actors, just the character itself.

I am still attracted to my hubby (although you're ALOT more sexually active than us)... and I have had no thoughts of ever cheating or leaving my husband.

Dreams are just that....Dreams. Just your brain's playtime after working so hard. Let it play!!!

I experienced a wave of these dreams before I got married (after 6 yrs together) and while I was pregnant. Most of the time, it was men that I DO know (all ex boyfriends - even the first boy I ever kissed a million years ago). They were so vivid and very sexual. Other women I talked to said the same thing. Even though it's normal, I too felt "guilty" -- especially the dreams with ex boyfriends because I have a history with them and it mixed up old feelings, both the good and the bad. Like, wow we had a really great connection or I why didn't that relationship work out. I'm very analytical and couldn't help but ask "what does this all mean" and "why now". The answer I eventually came up with: due to the timing (marriage, new baby) I think that I was mourning my past, saying goodbye to the single, unattached girl, and letting go of those old loves/heartbreaks. My husband is not perfect, but he is the absolute best man for me! You're not crazy. I blame it on hormones! I guess just try to use the passion, desire, energy in your dreams in your relationship. It can't hurt :) Have fun!

You're not weird - it's very normal. Remember, our dreams are just the trash can of our mind's memories. Your mind is just getting rid of things that it doesn't need in the best way it knows how. In the meantime, try to enjoy them and then let your husband get the benefit of them - wink wink;) This happens to me sometimes too and I too wake up feeling guilty - it's automatic and says something good about your character and how much you love your husband. Totally normal;)

First - the brain in the largest sex organ! I, like you, am still very attracted to my spouse of 28 yrs and we have an active sex life! (Thank GOD!) And yes, I fantasize whenever my mind takes me there. Your private thoughts are yours, and private, and as long as you are not acting on them - absolutely permissible and NORMAL! Don't judge yourself, let your mind wander and have a good time!

It's perfectly normal and doesn't have to mean anything bad. Your brain cleans up at night and deals with impressions from the day. It mixes things that at times aren't even connected. Don't feel bad!
