What Is the Going Rate for Bi-weekly House Cleaning?

My mom was going to hire a company in her home to clean bi-weekly. However, due to recent medical bills, x-mas, etc. We really need the extra cash. She has offered to help us out-but I refuse. We are putting groceries on credit cards but I refuse to take money from my mom for many reasons-none of them negative really I just don't want to take the money.
My mom is very particular in the way she cleans house-as am I and she also doesn't like the idea of "strangers" in her home because several years ago they were robbed. So its a win-win situation for both of us and if she is going to pay someone else anyways and I am willing to do it then why not? However we both are at a loss on what to pay. From what I have seen it cost $100.00 or more for bi-weekly. There are some things she doesn't want me to do such as the hard wood floors in the living, kitchen, and hallway. Those are my dad's pride and joy to do so we will let him keep that. She mentioned $80.00 and asked if that was fair....I think it is actually more than fair because their house doesn't get that dirty. It would be basic stuff. They live in a traditional ranch home. 3 rooms upstairs. 1 bedroom/master bathroom downstairs along with the living room, dining room, kitchen another small bathroom, a green house/sunroom, and then like a "sitting room"which no one really bothers with so all that would need to be done in there is dusting and vacuum. What is a fiar price for me to charge my mother that already helps so much or should I steer clear of this by all means because I have always heard not to do stuff like this.

What can I do next?

My in-laws pay me $60/week to clean their house. It's a big job though. They have 5 bedrooms and a ton of clutter. I think $80 is fair for bi-weekly.

Sounds like it could be a win-win. I would just be sure that you have a "no feelings hurt" agreement that if for whatever reason one of you changes your mind, you can stop the cleaning arrangement.

We pay $100 for bi-weekly cleaning of a 2,400 sq ft home with 4 br/3 ba. I think she's mentioned a fair rate. Keep in mind it's going to take quite a few hours to clean an entire house each visit, esp. on your own.

Depends on what state/area your from.. I live in a 2 story 3/2.5/1 and pay 75 every 3 weeks. The maids (there's 2 of them) are here for about 3.5 hours. (our townhouse is 1800 square feet). 80 sounds like a good price to me, where I'm from you would probably pay about 90 for that size.

I remember being quoted about $75 for a bi-weekly cleaning but that was a few years back so I think $80 is a fair price. As Dave would advise, write up an agreement!

My cleaning lady charges $80/week. She is here for about 4 hours. As for charging your parents for cleaning, that is up to you.

We pay $20 per hour and it takes her about 7 hours a week to clean the house "top-to-bottom" including the laundry and furniture. She comes twice a week, so we pay her $140/ week.

I pay a cleaning service and they charge around $20.00 per hour, then based on the size of the house, they agree to a certain amount. I think anywhere from 15-20 per hour is reasonable, yet I live in a rural area. I pay $40.00 per week or $60.00 every other week (I stick with the 40 per week because I don't like going 2 weeks without)...so $80.00 seems reasonable if their house is larger (over 1800 square feet)...

I pay $65.00 every other week for a two story four bedrooms home about 2,500 sq feet. To me $80.00 for a ranch seems expensive.
