What Is a Good Infant Car Seat Brand?

I have heard and read wonderful things about the Chicco KeyFit 30 and the Britax Chaperone both. We had a Graco with our son and an Evenflo with our daughter and I was not impressed with either of those, so those brands are out of the running! I was thinking maybe a Maxi-Cosi, Britax, or Chicco. What do/did you have and do you love it or hate it?

I do have to say I love my Chicco stuff. We have a 3.5 year old Chicco Cortina stroller that I just love and it still works like a dream after 2 kids, and a Chicco Polly Highchair that I also love too. So I know they have excellent quality ect. We also had the Chicco walker when my son was younger, I loved that thing too! Maybe I could be a spokesperson and get paid! Haha.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Janie L- You made me laugh with that one! I actually asked another car seat question last night about extended rear-facing.

Chicco KeyFit 30 is the best infant seat I have found. They have an excellent safety record and are SO easy to install correctly. I absolutely love mine!

We have the Chicco travel system...

I love it!!! My son is 15 mo. old and transitioning to his big boy carseat this week. I have NO complaints about the seat...

The travel system I like...the only thing I don't like about the stroller is the storage space below...especially when you put the carseat in it when they are infants...everytime I needed something from the diaper bag, I would have to take the carseat out...yes, annoying! However, the stroller pushes nice, and is well built. So you take the good! :)

I know that Chicco makes an infant seat that goes up to 30 lbs. (ours goes to 22 lbs.)...honestly, I can't imagine leaving a baby in the infant seat up to 30 lbs. Our friends have the 30 lb. but I think they had to change seats well before their daughter got to 30 lbs. because she just out grew it.

I recommend Chicco! :)

I had a graco and liked it. I haven't had the other brands. My suggestion to you is to go to babies r us and play with the seats, taking them on and off the base, adjusting them, undoing the buckles, ask if you can try them in your car. The best seat for you is one that fits your car, fits your child, and one that is easy for you to use so that it will be used correctly each and every time you use it.

We have two Britax and LOVE them. I wouldn't get anything else for us at this point. Shop the sales (I think we got them at AlbeeBaby.com for the same amount as the others) and you can do really well!

I loved our Chicco Keyfit 30 and have passed it to my sister for her son. I'm a fan of Chicco in general.

We also have a Britax Marathon for each of our cars for my daughter. I'm very happy with them, too.

We used the Chicco Keyfit 30 with our daughter and plan to use it with our son when he arrives in 3 weeks. Love it and it's held up well!

Edited to add: I really like the material used on the Chicco Keyfit--it washes really well and still looks new after 3.5 years.
