What Face Wash and Face Lotion Are the Best?

I am looking for a new face wash and face lotion. So what do you like the best and what do you just not like at all. Right now I keep switching my face wash because everything seems to dry out my skin( I have combination skin). I currently use clinique's dramatically different lotion but I'm not that happy with it either.

Also if anyone knows of something to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles.

What can I do next?

I have been using (and selling) Arbonne for almost 10 years. i used to use Clinque also and fell in love with Arbonne when I tried it and haven't looked back. It is herbally & botanically based with state of the art formulations. It will definitely help with hydration as well as fine lines and wrinkles. If you are interested in trying samples, let me know and I will get them to you promptly. Thanks.

I have always had issues with my skin and have tried so many different products. For the last year I have been using Patricia Wexler products found at Bath and Body Works. I LOVE them. I am using her face scrub/wash - there is also a foam but I need something for dry skin. I am also using her cream that has a 30 SPF. My doctor suggested that I should use a daily 30 SPF on my face now that I am showing signs of dark spots due to loving that sun. Good Luck.

I don't sell them but I have a friend who does if you are interested. I LOVE LOVE LOVE their products! Absolutely amazing and not a hive in sight!

Hi Tracy,

I am like you and have combination skin. I had a terrible time with a couple oil spots, but then dry patches. I have had the best results with Arbonne, as many others have mentioned. I recently switched to herbalife skin care line and it is awesome and a little cheaper than Arbonne. The Skin Activator line from herbalife is also great. Studies have shown this line to improve fine lines and wrinkles by 50% after regular use for 3 months. I really think both are good products. Good Luck!

My top choice is Apricot scrub by St.Ives or the store brand version which is usually cheaper CVS/Rite Aide and Wallgreens have their own version of this. I love all St. Ives products.

2nd choice is Original Noxema in the blue jar. I love the scent and it's a true beauty classic.

3rd choice is by Clean and Clear Oxygenating facial scrub. It smells great and it feel great on your skin.

Arbonne is the best! It's mostly natural and it's gentle on the skin. My friend sells it and I've been using it for a couple of years and I can't tell you how much I love it. I have terribly sensitive skin (I'm allergic to most everything!) and it doesn't bother me in the least. I'm also in my 40's now and it's really helped in keeping the wrinkles away. My husband swears by the men's line and he's one of those guys who could care less about what he's using. But, he got ingrown hairs so bad that I recommended he try Arbonne and now he won't go back.

Cetaphil products are always a safe bet. Most of your dermatologist would recomend this brand, You can get it at any store (walmart,target,ect.). If your skin is more dry try a cream product because a lotion will have more water in it. Hope it works out, Remember you don't have to spend a lot of money to take care of your skin. If your not useing an eye cream yet, I would strongly suggest it. And drink alot of water to keep your skin Hydrated. What you put in your body will show up on your face.

Hi Tracy
Have you heard of Rodan+Fields dermatology? They are the doctors that created Proactiv Solution (the acne product seen on infomercials). They have new products out to address other skin conditions, including wrinkles, brown spots, blemishes and sensitive skin. There is also a Gentle Wash with Aloe Vera that is extremely gentle and kind to the skin, yet effectively removes makeup.
I have two girls 14mos apart and dark circles and eye wrinkles were creeping up fast. I used Rodan and Fields Muli Function Eye cream and the circles are gone and the wrinkles diminished. I loved it so much I became a consultant so I could get the discount. The results are 100% satisfaction guarantee, so there is nothing to lose.

My favorite brand of facial products and makeup is Origins. You have to go into Macys where they have all of those makeup counters; all of their products are plant derieved ... and when they discovered one that wasn't a few years ago, they pulled everything from their shelves, called people that had purchased that item and reformulated it. You could look at what Better Health/Whole Foods stores have to offer. Burt's Bees or Doctor Burt products are really nice, and they're natural.

What you don't want is production line stuff. The mass produced. Look for perfumes, alcohol, and propylene Glycol. These are not good. Also if there's aluminum in it, like many of the commercial brands of deodorant, you want to pass it by.

Tracy,

I'm 37 years old and went for my first facial in December. I spoke to the lady and asked what she recommended. She suggested using Cetaphil cleanser. They sell it at Walmart/Target/CVS etc for less than $10. It's a very gentle cleanser that doesn't lather up very much but leaves your face feeling great.

The cleanser I used to use left my face feeling tight until I put on my moisturizer...especially in the winter. After I started using Cetaphil I couldn't believe the difference. It states on the front of the container that it's for all ages and skin types.

One of my womens magazines rated it as a best beauty find this past month.

Good luck and hang in there.

Aubrey - Rosa Mosqueta - Moisturizing Cream ~17-18 I so love this cream for my face
Gogi Berry Eye Cream - awesome for around your eyes!! don't remember how much I paid for it and it is not Aubrey, but is natural and mostly organic

Hi Tracy,
I read some of your responses and agree with the ladies that recommended Philosophy products. I was a customer for over a year and then became a Philosophy Beauty Specialist because I truly believe in their products....they made a huge difference in the apprearance of my skin (even my husband noticed!). I'm 40 years old and I feel like this is the best my skin has looked in very long time.
The face cleanser "Purity" (the busy girls cleanser) has a built-in toner, exfoliator, deep cleans and melts away dirt, oil & makeup and is also gentle enough to remove eye makeup while leaving your skin feeling hydrated. The best part is the price $20! The world famous anti-oxident rich moisturizer "Hope in a Jar" is wondeful....it promotes smooth, healthy skin and gives you a healthy glow (It's been on Oprah's Favorites a couple times). I have tried everything and I'm so happy I finally found skin care that really does what it says and is affordable. I am a Specialist working for Philosphy in various metro detroit are department stores doing complimentary facials/oxygen or microdelivery peels and would love to offer you a free facial, so you can experience the products before you buy. Let me know if you are interested or have any questions....my email address is ____@____.com. I really love my job because it's such a great feeling to see people look in the mirror after their facial and feel better about their skin and even see and feel instant results. In all honesty, Philosophy is a great skin care line that originated in Dermatology offices and is great for even the most sensitive skin. Believe me I can go on & on about how great their products are (and I already have, sorry), I want everyone to feel as good as I do about their skin! Their philosphy is if you feel good on the outside it will help you feel good on the inside. My family & friends that have experienced the facials/peels are all customers now because they love the products. Good luck with whatever you decide! K.

Then for a face cream I use California Baby's Super Sensitive Face and Body Lotion. You can buy it in the baby section at Target, around $8.99 - which is CHEAP for a face cream. It works perfect on my combination skin.

Hi there Tracy,
For the past several years now, I am hooked on ReverseAge! What I absolutely love about it, is that it is mild and has a patented delivery system based on "read and need" method. It basically reads what your skin's needs are and delivers just what it needs. Sounds funny but this means no matter what skin type (oily, dry or mixed), everybody can apply it! My husband and my 12 yr. old son (starting with puberty skin issues), and my mom are also using the same line! I know folks with various skin types and ages having great results (oily, acne etc.)! I personally have dry skin but, unlike before, after application it nourishes(day) and repairs/replenishes(night)and my skin never feels dry or under tension! The cleansing gel(soap-free)I use prior to the cream once or sometimes twice a day! There is also a eye cream and a lift serum available.
This skin care line is manufactured by a reputable direct sales company that specializes in nutrition; well the skin is your largest organ of your body and functions best when nourished appropriately.
If you have any further interest, I am a distributor for the company and, if you wish, I can provide you with testimonials, fill you in on more details, educate you further or answer any questions you may have. Ask about our money-back guarantee!
Hope you find what your skin desires!
Blessings,

I share your problem of combination skin and being a hairdresser, I have access to a lot of skincare products at a de iscounted price. I used to love aveda skin products but after our salon discontinued the skincare line I was unable to obtain it. So after years of trying different things I fell in love with Philosophy. Purity is the cleanser I use. I purchased mine thru QVC. I got a huge bottle for not very much money. (Can't remember how much exactly) This product removes my makeup, including my eye makeup, easily and leaves my face feeling clean. The moisturizer I recommend is the Hope in a Jar. Not to heavy and works really well. This however is kind of pricey, but if you watch for deals you should get a good price. I find that when I spend a little more $ I get a product that lasts a lot longer so to me it is worth the price. Hope this helps.

I like to use something with as little chemicals, ok no chemicals at all. I'm loving my face lotion it's by BWC beauty without cruelty, no bunny testing. I got it from the health food store and it was between 8-13 $. Still probably less than clinique. I'm using trader joes castle liquid soap on body & face. Just a little on a face scruby brush, so it's soft but I also get some exfoliation. Then I use the desert essences blemish roll on as needed for my combination areas. I also started using bearts bees repair serum around my eyes just to head off nature and laugh lines.

I have a friend in her mid 30's who looks like she's 20 her skin is so lovely. And it's because she eats a lot of raw organic veggies. She eats almost all raw foods, there's a ton of info out about raw food right now.

Hi Tracy! I have used just about everything under the sun! I have oily skin. I figured I just had to put up with it, seeing as how NOTHING really helped all that well. 6 years ago, I was told about Usana Health Sciences. They are located in Salt Lake City. Its a Health and Wellness Company. Their products are very high quality, and I do not say that lightly!! Their suplements are rated North America's top Nutritional in potency and purity. Many olympians use them!! They have changed my life!! I won't go so much into that but rather their skin care!! I have learned that we need to be so careful with what we put on our skin, as our skin absorbs what we put on it within 15 minutes into our bloodstream. Most products out there have chemicals in them that are harmful to us! My sister has had breast cancer, and we have since then learned that chemical parabens from lotions, etc,. have been found in breast cancer tissue. That is scary!! Anyway, Usana's skin care line is called Sense' (pronounced s-on say). They have a patent on it, because 2 years ago they found a way to have a self-preserving product without ANY CHEMICAL PRESERVATIVES it them!! If a product says they have no preservatives in them, then it should be refrigerated. However Sense' is self-preserving with a full 2 year shelf life!! Again it is patented so there is nothing out there like this! It is recommended by world -renowned Dermatologist Regina Hamlin out of California. It has in it whole grape extracts, green tea, vitamin E. Vitamin C, and many other natural ingredients. I have been using it now for 6 years and my skin has never looked better! They have the Cleanser, Toner (which balances the PH in your skin), Day and Night Cream (The night cream actually repairs sun damage!), Then they have a Rice Bran Polisher that removes dead skin cells, a really nice face mask, Serum Intensive which fights wrinkles and fine lines, and an eye cream. These products are FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!! You can check them out more on my website if you're interested!
I'm glad I did!! I hope you have a wonderful week! :)
