So I'm not expecting yet, but am trying to :)
I just wanted to see what you gals think of these names I've chosen, or if you have any other names that you absolutely love?
Heehee :)

Girl:
Serenthia Rose Moore (Seh-ren-thee-ah)
Shawna Braelyn Moore (Bray-lin)

Boy:
Emmett Taylor Moore

My two year old's name is Nicholas James Moore, just in case you can think of anything that would sound cute with that name.
This is kind of just for fun, but thanks in advance :D

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well thank you all :)

My husband actually mentioned Serenthia to me from his favorite book. Her nickname was Seree. Kind of odd, but I really fell in love with it and how original it is. In my opinion, it isn't hard to pronounce at all. It's said how it's spelled.
People had mispronounced my previous last name all my life, they always ended up calling me L. Martian. But I really didn't mind at all.

I did want Braelyn as a first name originally, but my husband wasn't fond of it so we came up with Shawna Braelyn.
It was interesting to see all of your responses. And I guess I have a while to think about it anyways, but it's hard to not think about it for me, haha.

And I'm happy to see that everyone loves the name Emmett. Because I love it too :)

When I think about ... Taylor Moore I think of Mary Tyler Moore. Sorry. Some might think of her when they hear it.

I would switch the Shawna Braelyn to Braelyn Rose. :)

I actually like both Serenthia and Shawna. I don't really like Braelyn, but then again it's not my kid, if you like it then by all means.
I love the name Emmett too.
All of them sound good with the last name (which BTW is one of my family names and it's very classic and easy to pronounce).
I also wanted to say I have had my last name pronounced wrong my whole life. Half the time when people mispronounce it, it sounds like a bad word. Honestly it doesn't bother me, it's actually my most commonly used conversation starter..always good for a giggle. =)

My only thought is that your little one will have that name forever. You had to phonetically spell two of the names you listed. How would you feel if people constantly mispronounced or 'butchered' your name your whole life? In school. At work. In business. I know.....people want to be "original" just like everybody else. ;) Just consider the long-term. Your baby won't be a baby for long.

Yeah Mallory hit it right on the spot. Not my cup of tea with names. BUT this is you decision when it comes time. Not ours. So do what YOU like.

Love the boy name and the second girl's name. Like the more traditional first name with an unusual middle name. My daughters are Miranda Corinne and Catarina Milan.

I think both of the girl names are beautiful though I can't help but be partial to the 1st one since my daughter and I's middle name is Rose and Serenthia is just beautiful. It seems to roll off the tongue in an almost poetic way. I should add that I have no problem what so ever pronouncing them correctly nor do I find them odd.

We gave our daughters traditional (very) first names, but odd middle names that we truly, truly loved because of the meaning behind them...and I love it, because we share that special "secret" name, and if they want to share it with people, they can, but it's not right out in front (like a first name.)

By the way, their names are Elizabeth Asenath, and Alice Shire.

I'm curious to know how you pronounce the first girls name...and I agree, name them something that sounds like an adult name! Love them all, anyhow...they sound nice.

I like the Shawna over Serenthia because it is easier unless you use Serena for short, but good choice on the boy!

Honestly, I say help your child to grow up being unique because of who they are, not what they're name is.

Would you have wanted to grow up constantly correcting someone on how to pronouce or spell your name? Also think of them as an adult at work. Will the name grow with them?

Now, how fun naming your child, but be kind. :)

We used to know the cutest little boy named Emmett. My daughter just loved him and his name. Now that she is expecting, I wouldn't be surprised if that name isn't on her list.

I love so many names, the list would be too long to state here.

I always imagined the name if I was saying it when the kid was in trouble, I was calling them in for dinner, or.....how it would sound at their high school graduations.

Names are such personal things. You have to remember that a person will be stuck with it for life.

I spent years mad at my mom over my name, but I'm used to it now.

Best wishes. I hope you get a chance to use one of the names you love!

It's kind of cute how you are already picking out names...please don't think I am mocking you..just smiling is all.

I think your names are great..I love your first girl name..but I am very partial to unusual names. I have twins..a girl named Emmeline Grace and a boy named Tiernin Eli..both old european names.

I also knew a girl named Braelyn (first name, spelled the same) and it was a great name. We all called her Brae..and it just fit her.

I really liked the name Eleanor..it's a bit old fashioned but it had a bit of elegance for me, or Brietta. If you have any favorite books it might help to pull a name out of one of those. I fell in love with my Daughters name because of a book character, and same with the name Eleanor. I though it was all grandma-ish until I read a book about a girl named Eleanor.
Good luck..hopefully you will have that baby very soon!
