What Are YOU Famous For?

We are getting ready to go to a neighborhood BBQ. Everytime we have a get together, everyone always asks me, are you bringing your mac & cheese??!! So earlier I was making it, and thinking, wow I sure am famous for this dish. So my question to you is, with anything at all in your life, what are you famous for?

What can I do next?

This makes me blush a little, but I am famous for my...booty! For some reasons it's just that one thing that people (men and women) seem to notice at some point...I still haven't decided if it's a good or a bad thing :-o
but at least it proves that i know how to dress (hehe..)

Sweet Potato Souffle. I made it for Thanksgiving about 11 years ago and it's now required at every holiday meal. I can't show up without it.
I also suspect this new baked bean recipe I've made a couple of times is going to be my new must-make dish for family gatherings.

Cut-out cookies. It was my grandma's recipe but my grandpa said I baked them better then she did.

I'm convinced it was the electric vs. gas oven...who knows. I'd love to have another one of her barely frosted light green Christmas trees just ONE more time.

being a nerd....:P

I cannot cook so no one would EVER have me make a dish for their party that they would call "famous", LOL!

BUT I was always the "smart" one, so people generally still think of me as being a brain, though I am sure my daughter stole all of my brain cells while she was in the womb! I swear I was much more intelligent before she came along and now that I am pregnant again, I fear I'll become famous for being the "used to be smart" one, LOL! :)

Thanks for the interesting question!

Chocolate chip cookies. I don't know why mine turn out so damn good, but ANY get together we are invited to I am asked to bring those cookies. Someone once asked me what I put in them to make them so tasty and I looked at her straight faced and said "pot". teehee. Not really, but there is definetly something there because even I can't get enough!

I'm famous for my freakishly large twins. One weighed 8 lbs 7 oz, the other was 7 lbs 13 oz. Anytime babies are brought up (which, now that I'm nine months pregnant with #3 is all the time), people always talk about the size of my babies. It's definitely something to be proud of! Now people are trying to guess the size of my singleton. I mean, if I can grow an eight-and-a-half pound twin, what size singleton will be in there?

- Being accident/weirdness prone. If something strange is going to happen, it's going to happen to me. ((Really, I don't think THAT many strange things happen to me, I think I just have a big mouth and very little shame and will pantomime out the stupid thing I did)). But I have to admit, I really DO fall down a lot.

- Being good in a crisis (really, I've just had practice, by doing every stupid thing in the book... that and the whole ADHD thing means adrenaline kicks me into 'sort it!' mode)).

- Hmmm... I used to be really good in bed? Does that count? (see what I mean about the no shame? Who says things like that?)

((BTW... I've been trying to make 'die for' mac'n'cheese for YEARS now. About 20 recipes in... and no victory yet... message me yours? I like some of the ones I've made, but I'm the only one. Which is never a good sign with comfort food! If it's not to die for, it's not comfort food!))

Well, my Dad jokes that I'm famous for being pregnant. ;) Six kiddos later...I have to agree. lol

Whenever I'm upset about anything, I cook. I LOVE to be in the kitchen. I'm famous for a couple of things....Chocolate mousse, white cake with ganache frosting, rhubarb chutney, molasses cookies, dandelion salad with orange segments, "crummy cake" (that's what my then 3 year old called crumb cake lol), lemon poppyseed sour cream cake, chicken fried steak, hashbrown potatoes, blueberry jam, strawberry meringue pie, and corned beef and cabbage.

Gosh. I'm hungry now! :)

Also famous for being the one my friends and family come to for answers on parenting, pregnancy, breastfeeding, potty training, etc. And religion.

Other than that, I'm infamous for being "That Mom". You know, the one that parents other people's children when they're at my house and running wild. lol

Cupcakes! I make really good cupcakes, one has a baby size milky way in the center during baking which caramelizes and melts and is ooey-gooey good! The other is brownie "burgers" with cupcakes for buns, sprinkled with sugar and colored frosting for ketchup and mustard.

And now that we are adding non-food answers, I am famous for knowing enough about any subject to be able to talk to just about anyone about anything! I say it's because I'm nosy! I can spell words I've never heard, everyone sends me anything they need edited. And I can remember every phone number I've ever dialed, and most addresses too. I can find any place once I've been there once and am super good with directions..I never get lost! And I'm the queen of finding nice things for dirt cheap...I call it living cheap without looking like it. My kids always look super cute and it's all value village and consignment. And I'm like TF, natural dd's after Nursing two kids for two years apiece and I don't need to wear a bra! I always say it's from having good pecs, I held the girls bench press record at my high school!

Having good advice on parenting issues. Some moms I know email me about all sorts of things: how to resolve sibling issues, how to address friction in a mom's group, how to help their children with their challenges.

There's even a joke I hear about myself secondhand from time to time: one mother tells another 'Oh, you're channeling H.'. Just about the nicest compliment a curmudgeony person like myself can get.

(My second-most famous trait is calling out problems when I see them and not bs'ing. That's a mixed bag, to say the least. I do have an edit button, but really, don't ask my opinion if you don't want to hear the truth.)

Being blunt?
ahem... well... only sometimes, lol.

Actually, I have been told that within the family(hubby's side) I am famous for my apple pie, smoked chicken chili, and pound cake.

My side likes the pound cake, too. In fact, there was a family reunion this past weekend (yes, Memorial Day Weekend!) and we already had made plans before finding out that the reunion was that same day. Anyway, my mom came by our house later and said that my uncle told her that it was okay that I didn't make it to the reunion, but "she could have sent the poundcake!" haha

Well at Thanksgiving and/or Christmas it is my 3 sausage bite appetizer on Mother's day it is my Texas Caviar......and these are non negotiable to my entire family. I can bring other things, but .....I better have the other or I might be kicked out. I also make things and if I do not have my yearly bath bomb party everyone gets upset. I have a few people I invite every year and then I add different friends every year so it is a mix of Moms and kids usually the weekend of Thanksgiving. These bath bombs/fizzies are great and everyone wants them for Christmas....We also do bath salt and soap if we have time. My holiday parties, Halloween, Easter especially. Ok I am tech challenged. My 9 year old taught me this last fall how to use my first cell phone. Yes, it is even with the tv, computer, ok even the remote is a foreign object to me so I am famous for that also. LOL have a great day
