What Are Some Restaurants Where Toddlers Eat Free or Cheap?
My son is now 18 months old. I am looking for restaurants to go to that he can eat free or reasonably cheap. I hate paying for the typical kids meal intended for a much older child, where we pay $5 or $6 for him to barely eat any of it; but he's too old to just take along some snacks and baby food like we used to.

So What Happened?™
Thanks for all your suggestions. I do usually take foods as many of you mentioned, but he is getting too smart for me. He seems to want what we have or something to come for him. It's kind of funny. If we are at home he'll eat almost anything we give him, but at a restaurant, he wants their food! I took him to Cici's yesterday, thanks for that idea Crystal! One place we do go that he shares ours food is On The Border. I don;t like beans, so he always gets mine :)

This is from someone who has already been thru this, but also crackers and cereal work really well too, most kids just want something to munch on while Mom and Dad are having dinnner, and this sometimes will keep them occupied and these are also easy to pack and take along. You can also buy the individual packs of like peanut or cheese and crackers and the individual servings of cereals. And before you know it, he will be eating on his own, just hang in there.................

If you happen to like Sushi...Simon Sushi in Plano (Plano Pkwy and 75 on the east side close to Hooters) is very kid friendly. They have a special menu for kids. I see a lot of people take their kids there. It is BYOB so you only pay for your food...It makes it much more affordable.

We have also discovered Ritzy by Grapevine Mills. I have 3 children and two of them eat free when they wear the t-shirt. I jsut keep the shirts in my vehicle all the time and they put the shirts on before we go into the resturant.
I'm not a burger person.....but their burgers are fabulous. Also try the salad....it's huge.
ENJOY!

Hi J.,
Can you take your own meals with you - something besides snacks and baby food as you mentioned? My daughter is 21 months old now, but we usually pack her dinners with us if we go out. Here are some ideas...
Macaroni and cheese (they even have microwavable containers now that take 3 minutes!)
Veggies - Dole, Del Monte, and the store brands have veggie cups similar to the fruit cups. We get the diced carrots, corn, green beans, and peas for my daughter
Hot Dogs - heat up a hot dog at home and cut it up and throw it in a baggie
Gerber Graduates Raviolis - you don't even need to heat these up!
Fruit cups
Pasta - cook some penne pasta and then pack some in a baggie or sealed bowl for him, easy!!
Kids Cuisines from the freezer aisle - heat one up at home and then put the contents in a sealable plate or ziploc bag. They have a variety of dishes - chicken tenders, pizza, fish sticks, and all come with corn and usually mac and cheese
Fish Sticks
There's tons of options. And all of these are minimal to pack and carry. If this doesn't work, then my only suggestion is to let your son eat from your plate during dinner.
Good luck!
