Where do you go to get your hair cut and colored? Since I've started staying at home - I need to find a new stylist. I've tried 2 but both don't seem to like long hair. I'm not a complainer. I'm loyal and a good tipper. But I want to keep my hair at my bra strap...both stylist have cut my hair a good 3 inches even after agreement. If anyone can recommend a great stylist that does a great job cutting long hair - I'd greatly appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What can I do next?

I don't know if you'd be willing or able to get to Addison, but a friend of mine has *gorgeous* long hair, and she and her husband get their hair cuts at Hairquarters. It's on the SE corner of Marsh and Spring Valley. Mark has been getting his hair cut there since he was in High School, and he's in his early 50's now. I've never seen either of them with anything Less than a PERFECT cut!!

Their phone # is ###-###-####.

If you didn't mind driving to the 635 / Audalia area...I have a great stylist there. It is called Erika's Salon at 9850 Walnut Hill Ste. 109, Dallas, TX 75238 phone: ###-###-####. I think his name is "Veronica", but could be wrong. He is tall slender guy. He does a wonderful job on my daughter's hair -which is very long. He is very nice and only changes $8 for a haircut. If you don't mind that he is a "cross-dresser" then I can't recommend him enough. I won't go anywhere else, even if he charged as much as an expensive salon. He does great color, too.

Lauren at L'image does a great job with my hair. She always cuts on the cautious side. My hair was about two inches below my collar bone when I first started going and she was always afraid to cut much off my length. She has always done great with my color too. It is a little pricey, but seems to be the average around here.

I recommend Troy O'Neil from Troy Richard Salon www.troyrichardsalon.com - he is in Frisco but he is awesome! He will work on any length of hair. All of his stylist that I have seen have been good but he's the owner and is the best of the bunch!

I know your feeling. I have long hair (about bra strap lentgh) and it took a long time to find someone who did not want to use my head as their art canvas to experiemnt with. About 10 yrs ago I started going to L'Image at Park/Preston and I saw Nargus. Nargus left last year to go someplace closer to Midway and I chose to stay at L'Image with Anna Nguyen. Anna had been an apprentice who trained under Nargus so I knew her and her style. Last year, Anna went to Sean David Salon at Shops of Legacy and I followed her there.

I have never had an issues with how much I want to cut, etc. She never tries to talk me into something new. She knows when I walk in the door, I am a quick color, trim and dry and good tipper. At most, I will experiment with some color but no cutting, only trimming usually 2" or less. My style is straight, one length. EASY cut.

My daughter goes to Lauren at L'Image. Lauren was also an apprentice of Nargus. I would go to Lauren if Anna were not around or moved too far for me. I pay about $150 for 1 step color, cut and dry (including tip). I paid Nargus $200 and her apprentice is always the one who mixed and applied the color.

Charlie (another Nargus apprentice) and his wife now own L'Image. I think you would be happy at either place. I was torn to leave L'Image because of the contacts I had there for so long. I continue to take my daughter there and go get spa services there.

Good luck and tell them Susan sent you.

I actually drive to a place called Salon Berlin in Dallas. She does both color and perm on my hair and follows directions about length. Her name is Gabriella. Their number is ###-###-####. Gabby has just had a baby a couple of months ago, and is working part time, but she is very flexible and so talented. She has been in charge of Regis Salons before, but left to be on her own (each person rents their stall at Salon Berlin) to be closer to her children. I highly recommend her, although the drive may be a bit. I drive for her. My hair is always done right. I am very picky about my stylists. She is the best I have found in years.

Call Jennifer Farris at Salons Unique. ###-###-####. She is located at SW Corner 15th and Custer. She has been doing my hair for 10 years and I recently referred her to another mamasource and she was more than pleased because not only is she great with cutting and coloring, she is very reasonable. I will bet her prices are far lower than any mentioned. Just call her and ask her prices. You will love her kindness and caring in trying to please you.

After about 3 years of trying to find a new hairstylist, I'm finally happy! I go to Denise Van Deusen at the Color Studio and Salon (17194 Preston Road Suite 110 Dallas 75248). I know she is located in Dallas, but it's super close to Richardson. Anyway, she always does a fantastic job with highlighting and coloring my hair. I also have long hair and get really nervous when anyone tries to cut it. Denise never cuts it too short and she is extra sensitive to girls who like their hair long because her daughter does. She's a fun person, charges fair prices and really talks to you a lot about what you want your hair to look like. I would highly recommend her! Her number is ###-###-####. Good Luck!
