Weight Watchers - Online Vs. Meetings or Does the Monthly Pass Get You Both?

For anyone who has done Weight Watchers...do you recommend the membership with meetings or on-line only? Does the "Monthly Pass" membership basically get you both? What's included in the Online membership that's not included in the e-Tools that you get with the Monthly Pass?

I'm online all day for work so I do have constant computer access and generally do a lot on-line, but I've done a few other on-line free weight loss programs (SparkPeople etc.) and tend to fall off the wagon after a week or two. So I think that meetings might help me stay motivated and accountable, but I like the idea of using online tools to meal plan, track fitness etc.

Thanks for any experiences/insight/advice you can share!

What can I do next?

The meetings are SO worth it. If I wasn't pregnant right now I'd be doing them. In the month before I conceived I lost 12 lbs on WW. The monthly pass is the meetings + online tools.

I did online online for a time and did very well and reached goal. It suited me then, with a new baby and enough on my plate that making it to meetings seemed like too much. I was motivated enough to stick with it.

Fast forward to second baby, and more weight to lose. This time, the online just wasn't working for me. Like you, I'd fall off after a period of time. I started going to meetings and it helped to motivate me and keep it in the forefront of my mind, as well as getting inspiration from people I could see and chat with.

Now I'm doing WW meetings with a buddy, and it's the best. We also do fitbits, and try hard to motivate each other, including going to the meetings even when we've had a bad week (especially when we've had a bad week).

Try a meeting, and see what works best for you.

As a side note, I know it's not easy finding a buddy. But over the years I have been surprised to learn how many of my friends and acquaintances do WW (including Lifetime members) and I never knew. It's just not a topic that always comes up, even when eating out together.

Monthly pass is simply e-Tools plus meetings.

I did it a while ago and the meetings gave me access to online also. I don't remember exactly what, but I think I was able to track everything like I was doing it online only, but I also needed the meetings. I lost 30 pounds and then tried to do it on my own, no such luck.

I think going to the meetings is best, personally.

Hello!

I am currently using WW. I have lost 25lbs. I couldn't do it online, though I'm committed to losing I need the personal interaction and the accountability that the meetings provide. Meetings give you resources, support and accountability. People lose more and keep it off by going to meetings. WW also has lots of online tools that you can use...people in your meetings can give you tricks, recipes and ideas that you COULD find online, but there's LOTS of info to sort through. They help cut through some of that. They are also there to share your successes/questions/concerns. Sometimes you just need an extra boost, to get you over that hump!

Edit: Oops forgot to say, yes monthly is meetings AND online

You get so much more in the meetings, I highly recommend.

Good luck to you no matter which route you take!

Edit2: I have found that weight loss is really a MENTAL process. You have to be committed to it. The meetings help you get and KEEP that mental edge that you need to keep going....especially when you have a week where you've done EVERYTHING right and don't lose.

Again, good luck to you!
