Weight Watchers Experiences?

I would like to lose about 30 pounds over the next five months. That's an average of 1.5 pounds a week. Is it realistic to think that I could do this using Weight Watchers Online (no meetings) and exercising 4-5 times a week? I've never tried Weight Watchers but I'd like a program that helps me decide what to eat and a way to track my progress, so WW seems like a decent way to go.

Have any of you used WW Online? What did you think? How much weight were you able to lose and how long did it take? Were you always hungry? Was it hard to go about your regular life (ie - going out with friends, family parties, etc.) while on this diet?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

38 years ago, did the original WW and lost 90 lbs. Four kids and 38 years
later have probably only have about 10 of the 90 back on. It taught me how
to eat the right way. The diet is engrained in my head!! Got creative with
it and it was obviously a success. Good luck.

I did WW Online a couple years ago and lost the 20 lbs. that wouldn't budge before. I really, really liked it. I was never hungry. You learn the low/no point food options and fill up with those (for instance, fruit is a good one), in addition to regular foods.

It wasn't that hard. I learned to plan before going out to eat. I'd research menu nutrition info before going to a restaurant. I even lost weight on a cruise and that was with having dessert every night! Seriously. I just made sure I used the gym on the ship every day, in addition to all of the walking we did while on shore.

One of the best things is that you don't have to eliminate any foods. So, if your weakness is chocolate, for instance, you can still have some. You just learn the right portion and to budget your points for a little every day (or however frequent you want an item).

Give it a try!

I haven't done WW, but I know quite a few people that do and they've all successfully lost weight. It's the program I plan to do after baby #2 is settled into the real world :P I think it's realistic to lose 30lbs in 5 months. It also depends on how overweight you are to start with. It seems like people who have a lot to lose end up losing weight faster than people who don't have as much to lose. Everybody's body chemistry is so different it's hard to tell how quickly your body will react. But, the tried and true method of eat less, exercise more is bound to work sooner or later. That's what's so great about WW...it enforces a healthy lifestyle, not some gimmicky fad diet.

That is a realistic goal to loose that in 5 months. I have done WW for many years and I have been succesful, however I never could reach my goal. I am still 10 lbs out and it has been a year. I have found when going away from it, it is hard to keep on track. I have maintained a good weight for this year but feel I need to change something to get these last 10 off. So you may find that you will have to work harder in excersise towards the end..........I am not applying myself yet, but hope too.
