Hello to all. I am thinking of joining weight watchers online program and I thought I would ask if any of ya'll have tried it. If so, what were your thoughts? It it really involved and complicated or easy to follow? Have you had any success with it? I know the basics of what you have to do to lose weight but I thought if I had some sort of guideline to follow with tips, etc, it might help. I'm just starting out on this weight loss journey. I would love to lose up to 50 pounds. I've never been one for exercise and watching what I eat so this is going to be a challenge for me. I'm finding it extremely hard to get started on it. Lack the self control, motivation, you name it, I suffer from it all. LOL. But I am tired of how I am feeling because of the extra weight. Please share your stories with me about weight watchers if you could. Would appreciate it! TIA!!

What can I do next?

Before you pay to do this take a look at Myfitnesspal.com it is free and has a lot of the same things as weight watchers. I lost 75 pounds using that site, and liked it way better than weight watchers.

I have done WW several times and just started again after Christmas. I am really enjoying the "freedom" of eating whatever I want. However, this time I have really made an effort to focus on having fresh fruits and vegetables on hand at all times. I also try to stick closely to eating the "power foods" which are filling and keep me from craving sugary, salty, junk or fast foods. I go to the meetings because I need that group accountability, but know of others that have enjoyed etools and have had great success. Especially since most people have smartphones on them all the time, you can access your information to keep you accountable 24/7. Also Weight Watchers has some of the easiest and tastiest recipes around. I am not a great cook, but I can manage to whip up some healthy meals for my family by experimenting with their recipes available. I have lost a significant amount of weight on several different diets, but losing weight and keeping it off is a completely different skill set. Of all the people I know that have lost weight and managed to keep it off over time, most of them have done it with Weight Watchers. I figure if I have to live on this planet with the likes of Taco Bell, McDonalds and Godfather's Pizza, we might as well learn how to be friends!! LOL Good luck and I hope you give it a shot! It is really the most affordable and healthiest way to establish better eating and exercise habits out there.
HTH,
A.

LOVE, LOVE Weight Watchers Online! I am just like you in the way that I could never stick to any diet for long enough to lose anything or be motivated, BUT.... I started my 'journey' March 20, 2011 & I have 67 lbs. to lose. I have lost 59 and counting! It's affordable, EASY to use, there is an app. for your Iphone so the tracking is super easy, there is also support (meetings) included in the fee, though I never attended one I hear their great! I also started running which has REALLY helped me stay on track food wise. Also IF you go over your daily points, you also have activity points & weekly points as well which makes you feel you never really go off the diet. Good luck to you, if you do join let me know & I can be there through W/W or support! You CAN do this & you will feel like a completely different person!!

I have been on and off again since August...I mentally calculate and when I remember I add to the online/iPhone app. I have lost nearly 20lbs. I have recently found Pinterest...and there are SOOOOOO many additional recipes on there.

I have about 50 more to go...but I'm doing it slowly so that it will stay off. I don't get upset if I don't lose one week. I have not gained back what I've lost when I fall off the wagon.

I like it because I can still eat things I like I just have to pick and choose what's important!

I have not read the previous posts, so If I repeat I am sorry :) I too am on my weight loss journey... a new me, a new lifestyle for me and my family. after High school I did the WW meetings and lost 15lbs. I gav eup of course and and before you knew it I had gained another 70lbs!!! I will tell you this. If you REALLY want this you can have it!!! You need to hold yourself accountable 100% of the time, no excuses, no cheating yourself!! About a year ago I was topping the scale at 224.. I think even 228, but I remember the 224. I joined WW online for 3 months and loved the fact that it teaches you about better habits as far as so many points for this little thing or same amount for this much. To me I wanted to get the most food out of my points and learned healthier options. However I only kept on it for about a month and then every other day or so until I threw in the towel (like everything I have ever done before regarding weight!)
So here I am at 211 and my 3 year old son asks me last Aug "Mama why are you so big? Why you got a bigger belly than daddy?"..... I DIED!!! I realized then and there this was it enough. There is no way in hell at 27 I am going to be the "fat" mom when he starts school. There is no way I am going to let my destructive eating habits cycle onto my children. But how can I do this? Easy: Support and accountability!

So you say you really want to loose weight but are you ready to change your life for good? First thing I did was buy Dr. Phils 7 keys to ultimate weight loss. It teaches you how to rethink as far as eating and why you do it etc. Now I admit I have only read the 4 for keys, but I pulled it out tonight and am going to be starting up again :)

Second I bought a BodyBugg.
http://bodybugg.comhttp:/

Basically you wear this senor on your arm everyday (no you can't really feel it, I always forget it's there, but you have to take it off to shower, as it is not waterproof) The senors track the following:

•Motion: The armband contains an accelerometer that measures motion from multiple perspectives.
•Steps: The accelerometer counts steps by measuring the distinct patterns created by running or walking.
•Galvanic skin response: When you sweat, your skin becomes more electrically conductive. This measurement helps the device understand how active you are.
•Skin temperature: There’s an electronic thermometer inside your armband that monitors how hot you are.
•Heat flux: When you move, your muscles produce heat. Your armband measures the heat that’s flowing from your body into the environment.

So basically to sum it up You put in your food consumed and there for get your calories comsumed
The BB tracks your calories burned and steps so
calories consumed - calories burned= deficit. That deficit is the extra that is all going to weight loss!! Now remember it takes 3500 calories to loose 1 lb! So that would be a deficit of 500 and would equal 1lb a week weight loss.

So how have I been doing? I started the BB in Aug. at 211lbs and as today I am down to 178.. 33lbs, 5 moths and only 1 relapse. I hold myself accountable. It is right in front of my face, I know what I have to do and how many calories I can eat a day. You customize a program for yourself wanting to loose x amount of lbs by such and such date, or loose X amount of pounds a week.

Now that I have gotten the confidence I have been going to the gym 6 nights a week and I can finally run 9 minutes at 5.6mp. May not seem like a lot but it's only been 5 months since I could actually run .25 of a mile without dying. If you have any questions please feel free to message me. I have found a lot of support on FB, and sometimes thats all you need.

Best of luck in whatever you decide, You can do it!!!! Keep your head up and the pounds will slowly come off and remember any weight loss is a sucess. It took you how long to gain, Its not going to happen overnight but it will I promise! Alright sorry for my long response, have a great night!

Hi there, I tried it and if you stick to it, it works. I lost a few lbs but then fell off the wagon but while I was on it, I was losing. I'm doing this other thing now (17 day diet) that has been working for me. But really, with any diet plan, its all about what you put into it. WW is an easy plan to follow though and will teach you about portion size and how much you really need to eat in a day, etc. Good luck!
