Weight Plateau After Birth

Hi Ladies, I birthed my first child on November 7. I was 128 lbs pre-pregnancy and have plateaud losing weight and am stuck at 140 lbs. Did you all find that your weight plateaud too, and did it begin to come off again with out dieting? I'm trying to eat healthy without "dieting" and I am nursing mostly.

What can I do next?

I'm in the same boat - weighed 129 before the baby and I've hit a wall at exactly 139. My daughter was born on November 20th. I tried weight watchers but my milk nearly dried up; since then I've stayed a member but am scared to restart the program. I've been exercising but I cannot seem to lose that last 10 pounds either. Maybe our bodies just want to hang on to it until we're done breastfeeding, but I hope not! Good luck!!!

I found that my weight plateaud with my first son after i had my second i started isagenix and got back down to my pre pregnacy wait in a month.

Yep I too hit the plateau. Before the pregnancy I was 170, the day before my daughter was born (September 20th)I was 221. I dropped 30 pounds really fast and then it just stopped. I started walking for an hour and a half every week day. Now I'm down to 180 (no dieting, just eating responsibly.)

Good luck but it does take time.

I lost my weight without dieting however it took a little longer with my second.

Hi, K.. Congratulations on your little bundle of joy. One thing that helped me "keep in check" with the weight loss is to remember that it took nine months to gain the weight so it is not going to come off as quickly as we would like. You're only at about two and a half months since the birth of your child and are fortunate to be just 12 lbs. away from your pre-pregnancy weight. Give it time. I found that the weight melted off with breastfeeding and walking. It took me about six months, though. The kicker for me was when I returned to work, I had a hard time juggling the demands of my job and a new baby so I didn't make the best food choices and wound up gaining 10 lbs. because of it. Just stick with the healthy food choices and try to be patient and you will find it will eventually come off.

Good luck!
K.

I have many friends who breastfed (my kids had trouble with milk proteins, so I couldn't) and the excess weight seemed to come off after they weaned their babies. I think the body holds on to that little last bit for reserves while you are still nursing.
