Just wondering what has worked best to help you loose weight? I am starting to walk/jog and cut my soda (dr.pepper) down from 5-6 a day to no more then 2. Never tried any diet pills but thinking about it. Im not way over weight but want to loose about ten to fifteen lbs and tone my stomach but not sure what works. :-) thanks for any advise.

What can I do next?

Eat less. Keep a log on what I eat. Try to eat healthy foods and stay away from junk food. Exercising the Core always works well with me.

Take it from someone who has lost a whole person and then some the natural way, no weight loss surgery here and im down over 180 pounds! You have started off right! Cutting soda is a HUGE deal and increasing your water will help also. My doctor had me take my weight and divide it by 8 (for ounces of water) and that is how many glasses of water I needed to drink a day. Also stomach crunches helped. Look aty lables and try and cut out a lot of extra salt. I didnt worry much at fat content but more on the surags and salts. Great luck! no matter how much you have to lose its never eas!

Water - TONS of it!!!! Any type of exercise always works for me, but running is actually what takes the pounds off (for me at least). Not eating after 7pm (or somewhere close to that) Good luck!

Water and LOTS of it.

Your soda drinking has to be reduced especially if you're not drinking diet. Even diet soda isn't good for weight loss. Soda will keep you bloated and your stomach will never really be flat but water does wonders.

Don't do diet pills and cut out as much soda as you can. Watch portion sizes, add more fruits and vegies to your day, eat less processed and boxed stuff, drink half your weight in ounces of water daily and just get moving. For exercise, I am doing the 30 Day Shred by Jillian Michaels, it is great for toning and losing inches (so I have heard), I am on day 4. I also use myfitnesspal to track my calories, it is a free online site and also a phone app. You may not need something like that since you have a smaller amount to lose. It is not about being a on diet, it is about a lifestyle change for a healthier body.

My mom has lost 66 pounds so far with her 'no carb' diet.

I joined slim genics 3 months ago and have lost 26 lbs! 10 more to go! Seems to work well without starving you. I have learned that pop even diet that has the caramel coloring has alot of unneeded carbs. I used to drink diet Pepsi. I switched to diet serria mist (2 a day) maybe that will help you. Also they want you drink 80 Oz of water per day alot I know but seems to work!

I bet replacing your soda intake with water will do the trick without having to do much else. If you can deal with diet soda, that is one more way to cut some calories, too. Something I have tried that works well is sneaking in exercise in small ways throughout the day - for instance, when you go to the store, instead of driving around trying to get the best parking spot, just park in the last row and walk. Or if you go somewhere and need to go to the second or third floor, rather than taking the elevator, walk up the stairs. You would be surprised how much exercise you can do like that, and it doesn't seem as annoying as going to the gym. :)

Change your eating habits for life instead of doing a "diet" or taking pills. Retrain yourself to eat healthy. Eat foods that haven't been processed, sauced, or packaged. Eat what you like in moderation. Read the "serving size" on labels and follow it. Portion control. Become a vegan (this is so boring that you won't be tempted to eat very much but for me it lowered my cholesterol by 50 points). I am now a modified vegan and haven't gained any weight since I started.

I lost weight doing a combination of things. When I stopped doing them for 6 months I slowly put some weight back on, but I am still not where I was when I started my "plan" so it really worked. Losing weight and toning up is such a mental game, and it has to be a priority in your life. My "plan" was...
1. I changed my diet but didn't follow a specific commercial diet plan. I reduced the amount of sugar I consumed and used in cooking. I hardly cook with butter and switched to olive oil. I eat a ton of veggies on sandwiches, wraps, and with homemade hummus. I try to cook as much from scratch as possible (meals, salad dressings, side dishes etc). I replaced pasta with quinoa and summer squash. I reduced soda and alcohol a bit and tried to replace with water (still working on the water thing!) I used the internet as a resource and looked up weight watchers recipes. Even though I wasn't doing WW, I knew the recipes would be good for me.
2. I started walking. I dislike running greatly, so I opted for longer walks with long distances than running. I use an App called Map my Walk on my iphone so I know my speed and distance. This REALLY helped tone up my rear and legs and my husband could notice the difference. I walk when I can on the weekends and when my 2 girls are in preschool.
3. When I lost the most weight was when I added a day or 2 in the gym in addition to the above. At the gym I would casually walk on treadmill, do squats, and some basic machine weight lifting. I also swam in the YMCA pool and did some laps. Every once in awhile I would throw in a group cardio class. Cardio Box (kickboxing with arms and legs) was great and really helped target my stomach/core and back fat.

Good luck, you will do great. You are already on the right track by asking for ideas. Hopefully all the responses will jump start your plan and get you motivated. You can do it!
