Weekend in Memphis
We are going to Memphis July 31-Aug. 2, just that weekend. It will be my husband, 13 month old son, and myself. We are staying at the Peabody, so seeing the ducks will be a def. and going to a Redbird game. Anyone have any other ideas on what is a must there?? Thanks.

Funny, we will be back there the week before! We were there 3 years ago to visit friends. Beale Street was great to walk around. There's also a trolley that takes you through the downtown area. There's a sprinkler park in Collierville that we went to that was awesome! Their zoo is great but a little pricey so be on the lookout for deals/coupons. We ate Memphis barbeque at Corky's and Dyer's Burgers on Beale. We plan on hitting Mud Island and Graceland this time around. They have a children's museum that is supposed to be good. I LOVED the Peabody, can I ask how much you will pay to stay there? We booked a hotel in Collierville (suburb of Memphis) since that is where our friends live, but it would be way cool to stay at the Peabody! Have a great trip!

Mudd Island is a definite must! Great museum about the Mississippi river. BBQ on Beale Street.

go to the Pink Palace - we only had a couple of hours and there was so much more to see...
your little one might enjoy the children's museum, but it is kind of small... lots of hands on stuff though.
the zoo was fun too - especially the panda bear.

We went to Memphis in March. The Zoo was incredible! If you have a STL Zoo Membership, you can get in for half price (although for my family of 5, it was still pricey). You could probably spend the whole day there. Our kids loved the trolley-we rode it all the way around twice. The kids museum was small-definately not the Magic House, but for a toddler, it would probably be lots of fun. We did see the ducks-the kids enjoyed it, but people started lining up 30-45 minutes before to get a good seat to see the ducks.
