Weekend Getaway - Houston,TX

According to the Travel Channel "The best water park in the US" is less than two hours away from Houston... sounds really fun! I will try it soon with my husband!

I would go to a Bed & Breakfast out in either Brenham or Bryan/College Station. Just go to bedandbreakfast.com and you can search for one. Most of the B&B sites will tell you about other activities or things to do in the area. If you go to Bryan you can check out the Messina Hof winery (messinahofwinery.com) Good luck and have fun!

I've heard New Braunsfels is great. You can go camping and float on a tube down the river. Very relaxing. I haven't been there yet, but It souns great if you're an outdoors kind of person.

Autin or San Antonio are not too far away and are great get away places. Lots to do at either place as well. Pull up both the cities websites to get some ideas on things that may be going on that you would enjoy.

Although I haven't gotten to get away over night here yet, I plan to go. I really think the town of Brehnam is neat and has some very nice historical hotels and Bed & Breakfasts. There is nice places to shop and eat, as well as day spas. It's only an hour outside of Houston.

Check out Port Aransas. Its about a couple hours drive from Houston. Great food and the beaches should be pretty good this time of year. Google it.
