Wedding Favors
Does anyone have any ideas on party favors that you can make at home. The colors for the wedding are silver and fuschia.I am doing this for a good friend of mine and the wedding is in June. She wanted something with candles

Try oriental trading company (orientaltrading.com). For my wedding, I ordered a bunch of silver bells and attached tags to them to commemorate the event. Then, instead of throwing rice or petals, my guests rang the little bells as my husband and I left the reception. It was very pretty and everyone enjoyed something a little different from the norm. You could also try ordering customized M&Ms (from M&Ms website). They can be pricey if you want to buy a lot but you can get them with the couple's initials or whatever they'd like in whatever colors you want and then just package them in little goodie bags.
You can also look at wedding websites for favor ideas. Places like theknot.com and others.

Hi C.,
As a favor in the welcome bags at our hotel I gave guests a small glass votive with a chocolate candle in them and I got a lot of compliments. I purchased the simple glass votives at Michaels for 2/99 cents, then I ordered personalized monogram stickers online, put one sticker on each votive, slid in the candle, then tied a thin piece of organza ribbon around each one. They were simple and easy! I can't remember the site where I ordered the stickers, but you can either google it or take a look at www.weddingfavorites.com, they do personalized monogram stickers also. Good luck!

That's really nice of you to do! Since I think most wedding favors collect dust with people, candles are a lovely idea. Perhaps fucia candles w/silver ribbons and some sort of charm attached to the ribbon that has something to do with them - where they met, what they do, what they love, etc. The red color candle can go with a LOT of holidays, and I think it would be simple to do - you could tie the charm on the ribbon and then on the candle while watching TV! :) Good luck!

I made fortune squares (those paper toys we used to play with as kids) for my wedding and put the guests names on one of the sides. Since you can get scrapbook paper that is 8x8, I made the squares fit that size so no cutting. The paper was a real pretty antiqued paisley. It was really simple and people loved playing with them at the ceremony. If you didn't want to put the person's name on them, you can use a place card in the middle.
If you need the pattern, give me a shout...
Also, if you like those shear bags w/drawstrings, I found ebay was the best place to get them!GL!
