Does anyone know of any good sites where I can book a flight. We are heading to Texas this summer, HOT, HOT, HOT.... (only time we all have time off from school at the same time) I've checked Travelworm and Expedia, I just can't remember what else is out there. Thanks!

What can I do next?

Try bookingbuddy.com. You only have to put in the details of you trip once then you click on all the different places like expedia and Orbitz. I've used it a lot, it's great!!

I travel a lot and this is the conclusion I have come to: book direct. I always search the discount travel sites such as travelocity and cheaptickets. Once I decide from them which airline carrier has the best price for my trip, I go to that airline's website. It is usually the same price as you see on the "discount" site, minus the booking fee that those travel sites charge you. So, in the end, I use the sites to do the comparison for me, then book direct to save the booking fee. Another huge benefit: when booking direct you have a much better cancellation policy! Have fun in Texas!

I like Kayak. It is a meta search engine which searches all the airlines directly, plus expedia, travelocity etc. Just remember that you have to check the airlines that are not part of Sabre (like Southwest) directly.

I just used cheaptickets.com to book me and my husband's flight to Ohio in June. They always have really good pricing and usually beat out the other guys. You can also check bookingbuddy.com which lets you put in your travel info just once and check flights from about a dozen different sites, some more well known than others. Hope this helps!

Good Morning America mentioned the Airfare Watchdog web site. So I signed up to receive weekly airfare alerts for my departure city. They list low airfares on all airlines as well as include special fares that you can only purchase on the airlines' own web sites. The URL is http://www.airfarewatchdog.com/.

Hi N.,

I travel to the east coast every year. Our family trips consist of 3 kids, 2 adults and usually my mom. So we always need to find great prices. Anyways.....I found a site that I have become a member at called www.Bestfares.com I can usually find flights for $220 round trip to Pennsylvania or sometimes less. They also have great last minute deals to Hawaii, etc.

I hope you find this helpful!

Hi N.-

My favorite travel booking website is Mobissimo:
www.mobissimo.com

It searches across airline consolidators, individual airlines, Orbitz, and the like. It also features nifty features, such as: filter by departure & arrival times, number of stops, airlines (use/consolidate your airline credits!).

Best of luck!

Hi N. - not sure if this is too late to assist, but try www.ytb.com/valleytravelconnections. Also, sometimes the best deals are last minute - so if you haven't booked, be sure to check it out. Happy traveling!

www.priceline.com is the best I have found. You can pick your flights or if your times during the day are flexible you can bid on your own price. I have gotten up to 50% off doing that, but you may end up flying really early or really late. Orbitz.com is good, however I think they own priceline and ususally have the same fairs. travelzoo.com lists the best internet deals and you can find some good ones there. My one caution is to make sure you check to final price. some of these sites have ticketing fees that take the price up over what the airline sites are offering. Oh yeah sometimes southwest.com has good deals, they dont give you a seat assignment but with little children you pre-board anyway...good luck

You can try travelocity or cheaptickets.com but sometimes you get the best deals by going to the airlines websites directly. Some airlines like Southwest, JetBlue and VirginAmerica will not show on the other web sites but can have lower fares. Good luck with your travel plans.

I use Expedia & Travelocity. If you are a Costco member, they have a travel department and you can get some pretty good deals.

You could also try Kayak. I've used it quite a few times.
