Hello mammas,
Well i have a lil problem when it comes to finding the right place to go and worship.. My husband is pentacostal and im catholic and we have been to each others churches and cant come to an agreement with each others ways.. I was a conservative baptist and now an orthodox catholic so the way i worship is very quiet and traditional but he is very loud and well not traditional. I freak out everytime i go to his service and have had panic attacks at least 3 times. I know everyone worships differently but im just not comfortable with all the junping, shouting, falling down..( i know the bible says we shall rejoice in his name but i rejoice in silence. ) Does anone know of a happy medium that isnt to drastic and isnt too traditional? I would really like to go to service as a family instead of me and the kids at my church every other week and him and the kids at his church every other wk. It doesnt matter the faith as long as its the same GOD...baptist,catholic, methodist.. your advice is greatly appreciated

What can I do next?

I love my church family. I attend Crossroads Church in Mesquite (Corner of Kearney and Pioneer). It is non-denominational but I would say most closely like Baptist. I was raised Methodist but didn't feel connected there any longer. We play contemporary music with a full band (I sing with them) and its a very relaxed environment as well as a relaxed dress...we all tend to wear jeans. I love it and it's truly a warm, inviting small church. I hope you'll try us out!!

I grew up catholic and when i started attending the church i go to now i was not even a christian anymore. I just knew i needed something. At first i was a little uncomfortable in the worship setting but the sermons were so dead on i had to come back for more. I go to a church in Deep Ellum, it's a great mix of people. Very friendly. The pastor's name is Tony Fundaro he's 30 years old. The congregation is made up of a wide variety of people....stay at home moms, single parents, college students, artists, musicians, business owners...most of the congregation is in their 20's and 30's. The church is part of a community center dedicated to the nieghborhood of deep ellum with afterschool programs for kids,a great sunday school program, a coffee shop, film studio, vintage clothing store and our santuary doubles as a concert venue in the evenings. This weekend we hosted an event called north by southwest with about 100 bands. If you would like to read more about the church here's the website: www.deepellumchurch.com or if you have any questions about it let me know.

Doesn't say where you're living; but Oakview Baptist Church in Irving might be more to your liking. It's located on Story Road between Rock Island and Shady Grove. Not as extreme as Pentecostal, but good Bible preaching. Lots of singing and occasional "Amens" is the extent of the congregations' participation. Also, lots of activities for the children.

Good luck and God Bless...

you could try a non-denominational. Most of the ND churches around Dallas are fairly contemporary, and I recognize some of the doctrine from my Baptist roots. Fellowship is one of the largest (in Grapevine), we've attended Watermark in Lake Highlands and Fellowship Bible in Dallas. They're very similar, contemporary and modern but not so charismatic...

I'm not sure where you live but there is an awesome church is Seagoville, Texas. Robinwood Baptist Church is located at 111 n. Stark Rd Seagoville, TX 75159. The pastor is 33 years of age and there is a young atmosphere in the whole church. We don't exactly jump around but we aren't quite either. It might just be the happy medium you are looking for. We have service every Sunday from 10:45-12:00. WE also have sunday school @ 9:30 if you would like to attend. My name is G. R. and I'm in the young married class. I have two daughters 4yr & 4mo & a loving husband of 10 yrs. I hope you will come and try us out if you don't live to far away. Yours in Christ, G. R.
