Washing Pillow Pets
Anyone ever put a Pillow Pet in the wash? On TV they say they are machine washable but on the tag it says surface clean. My son had a diaper accident overnite and he woke up very wet and his Pillow Pet is stinky like pee.
So What Happened?™
I didn't have a large enough pillowcase so I just washed it with my sons clothes. I adjusted the stuffing and let it sit while his clothes dried then when they were done I put the pillow in the dryer on delicate. Came out perfect. I didn't even know that regular stuffed animals are washable. Thanks everyone c

We had a similar incident a couple weeks ago. The tag on mine said to put it in a pillowcase (I tied it shut with some ribbon). I also ran it through the dryer still in the pillowcase. The stuffing was a little lumpy, but I just 'massaged' it around a bit. Worked fine. If I have to wash it again I might just air dry it.

I've washed both of ours several times with no problem. I put them in the dryer with tennis balls, and they're perfect and puffy when done!

Hi!
I've washed our Pillow Pets numerous times (we've had them awhile). Antime one child has runny nose issues or coughing I wait until they seem better and then I wash it. HOWEVER, I take it to my mom's house because she has a front loading machine, which is more gently on things. I place the Pillow Pet in a larger pillow case and tie it with old shoe lace good and tight. I actually put mine in the dryer on low heat for a while and then turn the dryer to No Heat and finish drying it. Comes out perfect!
If you don't have acces to a front loading washing machine then take it to a laundry mat. Also at the laundry mat they have those extracting machines (well ours does) where it will spin really well and get out excess water. Doing that you really may not need to put in the dryer at all.

After a stomach virus made its way through our house, I tossed a pillow pet in a regular load of laundry. I hung it on a trouser hanger to dry. It looks and smells great!

I put the small pillow pet in the washing machine and it was fine. Put it in the dryer but keep an eye on it. It should come out ok.

I washed my daughter's pillow pet and the seams are glued, not sewn so when I put it in the dryer it melted and I had to perform emergency surgery. Of course after I washed it and dried it I looked at the washing instructions and it says to put it in a pillowcase and tie off the end to wash and let it air dry.

We have a top loader with no agitator and I just toss them in with a "handwash" setting, and very "low" heat in the dryer. No issues!

I've washed my daughter's Pillow Pet many times. I just put it in the washer by itself and run it through a regular cycle. I let it air dry. It always ends up looking brand new.
