Washing Peg Perego Car Seat Cover
I need the wash the cover on my peg perego car seat. The manual says hand wash only. Has anyone washed theirs in the washing machine? Does it ruin the cover? Thanks for any advise!
So What Happened?™
Thanks for your tips and suggestions. I ended up washing it by hand in the bathtub. It came out looking brand new! Thanks again.

Hi there. I know this response is late (I just saw it on my mamapedia email), but I just wanted to say that I just washed our peg perego car seat, too, and it was fine. I put it in a pillow case, washed it in delicate/hand wash setting and aired it out to dry. Hope this helps!

Hi ET,
Follow the manual. Car seat covers have a fire retardant and some soaps and washing techniques may ruin the retardant, making the cover less safe.

I had to wash mine 2x due to puke - I put it outside, scrub with a soapy wash cloth/sponge and then spray it down with a hose. Let it sit outside in the sun to dry. Good as new!

I washed mine (numerous times) in the hand wash cycle and hung dry. It is fine.

I would suggest following the manufacturer's instructions with regard to washing. I am a child passenger safety technician and instructor and when a manufacturer gives specific instructions, it's for a good reason. It very well could not withstand the washing machine or might cause for the fire retardant to "rub" away...I'm not certain, but I'm sure washing it by hand would be best.
