My doctor said to use the wart remover liquid and cover with duct tape. This wll take a few weeks to get the core but will work.

Garlic. I had plantars warts for years and years. I tried freezing them off, duct tape, every OTC medication imaginable, and for 13 years fought with them coming back. Then one year I ate a LOT of garlic dip and they went away on their own. 7 years later, they still haven't come back. You could take garlic capsuls... As for the pain, maybe get one of those corn cushions bandages to take the pressure off while it goes away?

I have a couple on the bottom of my foot too. I had heard of using duct tape to starve the virus of oxygen. I have been trying it for a couple of weeks now and it seems to be working (although I have been using some other kind of moleskin cover from Dr. Scholl's for one of them because due to where it was on my foot, I couldn't keep the tape stuck to it). Anyway, in the evenings before bed, I put the wart remover liquid on it, let it dry and then cover it for the night and then change the tape in the morning. I have had to scrape the top layers of callous off of them every few days, but the one on my heel doesn't hurt nearly as much anymore and they seem to be getting better. Just Google "duct tape wart removal" and you should find some articles on why it works and how to do it.

I tried going to a dermatologist for many months to have treatments on them and even had surgery to remove them last October and then got diagnosed with breast cancer and went through chemo. They came back because my immune system was destroyed by the chemo and after all I've been through, I don't want to have that surgery again, so I'm giving this a try. Good luck! Hope it works for you.

Sounds like a plantar wart. My girlfriends son had some bad ones and used the OTC Dr Sholls wart remover (like $12 at Target)... one went away after one treatment, the others took 2-3 treatments. It freezes them off like that the dermatologist, and he said it didn't hurt at all. Feel better!! :)

Hi C.,

Wow, I had a battle with plantar's warts last year and it was not fun!!! Our nephew was staying with us and he said his feet were hurting. I thought he just had some callouses on his feet when I looked at them, so I loaned him some of my sandals. Our whole family ended up with plantar's warts.

Everyone else in the family was able to get rid of their warts by just using the Dr. Scholl's freeze away wart remover a few times. But for some reason, my immune system would not fight the virus. I treated the warts for almost a year. What worked best for me was the combination treatment of freezing-scraping the dead skin off-applying salicylic acid (topical wart remover)-scraping the dead skin off-freezing-repeat. I had to freeze the warts much longer than recommended in the instructions. But the upside to that is that it damages the nerve endings a little and the pain goes away for a while. I froze the warts weekly and applied the topical wart remover daily inbetween freezings.

I don't know if my immune system just finally kicked in and starting fighting the virus or what. Because even though I had been treating the warts according to the directions on the freezing package, they were growing and spreading. They began to shrink and after about 6 months finally went away with the combination treatment. (I have a tiny bit of scarring and not quite as much feeling where the largest wart was but most of the feeling has come back. I don't mind the tiny scar since it is on the bottom of my foot and I'm just so glad the warts are gone!)

God bless,
A.

All of the suggestions you got sound workable. Back in the old days, when I got them in gym class ( P.E. class ) many people got them from being made to step in some pan that had a disinfectant in it but what it did was give us all planters warts. I had to have mine burned off which did hurt, but they've never come back. I am glad to see there are easier treatments for them now. If none work I can say burning them off will.
