Warts

Apple Cidar Vinegar works. Lots of people swear by it. I used it on a Plantars wart I had for years and it was gone in less than 2 weeks. Put some ACV on a small piece of cotton, from a qtip or cotton ball, put that over the wart and cover it with a bandaid or tape. Leave it there overnight, and replace it in the morning. You should notice a difference within a couple of days.

If it's on the bottom of his foot it's probaly a planter's wart. Those are horrible, I had one when I was pregnant and nothing worked. I never went into the doctor but should have. I kept buying over the counter freeze off, picking at it, and slicing it off with a razor blade, the problem is it has deep root and you have to get the roots to get rid of it completely and that's tricky. I have no idea but after I delivered my baby it went away and NEVER came back. I know it's contagious and I could have passed it on to other's if I walked in a locker room etc.

I would maybe go to a different doctor he should have gotten rid of it the first time.

If it is a planter wart they are extremely painful, like having a pebble in your shoe, it got to the point I started walking sideways on my foot and screwed my foot up. I tried ducktape,nailpolish,over the counter freeze off, cutting it with scissors, razor blades the darn thing lingered for months. If I have this problem ever again I'm going straight to a doctor and having them cut it out of my foot.

Silly me my pregnant butt was to embarassed to go to the doctor. Not again then though.

I've had warts frozen off with liquid nitrogen as a child but don't remember those experiences. One time they shot me with novacaine and cut it out so you might want to try that. Not sure if they do that anymore because we're talking at least 22-24 years ago. Recently, I've been having treatments for my two planter warts on my feet. I've had them since 2006 and I wasn't good about going in every two weeks. Recently I've been going in for treatments and they used the spray nitrogen which was very painful while they sprayed but the sting went away shortly after. I switched to a thing they call "beattle juice" and it's an acid they put on and after 2-4 hours you wash the area with soap and water. I have never been in so much pain with this treatment. The first night is very hard to walk and the second day is still painful but not as intense. It's been working but you must go in for these treatments every two weeks and let them tell you no more treatment is needed. One lady told me that she thought I wouldn't have to come back again and it grew back. I'm waiting this time for them to tell me for sure. Blistering is normal but mine never got to be that big. I let them be and I haven't been able to get in to my regular check so the dead skim which was a blister started to peal off at about a month since my last appt.

Ok your going to think this is crazy but I swear it worked for my hubby. About a month before our wedding a friend of ours suggested he use green sidewalk chalk on his warts that were all over his hands. He rubbed the green chalk on them twice a day and within 2 weeks he was wart free. He had had them burned off, froze off and even used compound W all of which were a waste of time and money. I don't know if this works for all warts but it worked for him. Cheap and worth a try.

The blisters are supposed to surround the wart to the root, and have them fall out.

We did the whole doctor thing with my first son, and after 3 treatments, they were still there. (We had finally gone to the doctor because they had spread and we were dealing with 6 warts!) What finally got rid of the warts? A high grade fever the following winter when he got the flu. Not fun, but that is what finally did it.

My Younger son has 2 warts now. We have tried wart remover, but the warts start to hurt him. Sadly, we are waiting for a fever. I am not taking him to the doctor for them. What's the point.

I had a friend that had a planters wart for over 30 years. She and her doc tried everything to get rid of it and couldn't. She tried something she ordered over the internet. Safe and painless. In 10 days it was gone and hasn't come back all these years. I took her advice and did the same for my daughter...worked. Too long to explain it all here. I had warts on my feet also and they were very painful. i had to go to the doctor every week to have it froze and cut off. In between doctors visits I had to freeze it at home. It finally did go away but it took a couple months. I would also recommend when he gets rid of the warts to buy him new shoes and throw away the old shoes. If he tends to have sweaty feet you should put gold bond foot powder in his shoes before each wear.

Right now my daughter is 8 and she has several little warts mostly on her fingers. She has about 5 just on one finger and the doctor highly advised against removal such as compound w, etc. since it can damage the finger being there are so many in a small area. So what was recommended is Tagamet Liquid once a day for 6 weeks (it tastes really awful, my daughter gagged and we mixed it with Tang) and then duct tape every night at bedtime. It is working, the results are the warts are getting smaller, however none of them have dissappeared yet.
You mentioning that the other methods are not working, I thought maybe bringing up the Tagamet. It is most commonly known for upset stomach use, but it's to help the body fight off the wart from the inside out. Just an idea to bring up to your doctor as another idea to try.

Poor guy, it sounds painful. Growing up, I had plenty o' warts...they are totally gross and very painful. I had one on my finger along the nail, and one day I woke up and it was gone. I have been told that warts are a virus and that eventually they can go away...on there own.

I would try the duct tape thing...I tried it but I was working landscape a few years back and I couldn't keep it clean or even on so I discontinued and just lived with the wart. You will need to be consistant with it and it may take a while. Soak the wart for a bit and scrape it clean, let it dry and put the compound W on it and than the duct tape.

My body just cringes hearing about freezing the warts, I had three removed this way and boy is that the most painful thing in the world. I now have one on the bottom of my foot and I am trying the over the counter methods because I dont want to get it frozen off.

Is this a plantars wart on the bottom of the foot? I had one for over a year. The pads did nothing for me and would usually just fall off, besides that they are uncomfortable to walk. I finally saw the Doc about three weeks ago, she froze it off, and said I need to come back two more times, two weeks apart. So the second time was yesterday. It has really come down in size but I can still feel it in there so I think in the third treatment it will be gone.
Also my mom had them all over both feet, and they were so bad that her doc had to cut hers out. She was in a lot of pain afterwards, and wasn't able to do much for about a week or two.

I got a wart near my knee a few years ago when my children were both about 8 months old & not yet walking. When I would hold them on my lap they would inadvertantly kick it and it would bleed like a son of a gun! I read in the newspaper about duct tape beeing used to remove them and I thought what the heck I'll try it. It worked! I changed the tape about twice a week. That seemed to be good enough. I can't remember how long it took exactly but it didn't just happen overnight. Maybe a month month and 1/2. But it is very easy to do, inexpensive, unintrusive, and painless. Good Luck!

My husband has had the same experience with a wart on his hand. It is now the size of a silver dollar (after 4 attempts to freeze it off) He is now trying this home remedy: Soak (or saturate a cotton ball) the wart with white vinager, then cover the wart with duct tape (or liquid bandage) the key is the wart can not breath and dies. My sister said you will eventually turn the wart black but there will be a white area, this is the root, pull that out and the wart should die. Good luck to your family

I actually had the same thing when I was in high school. I had the doctor freeze it several times and it just kept coming back and getting bigger, like your son's. I finally had to have it removed by a laser. It turned out that the wart had attached itself to my bone and had sprouted from there. I want to say they told me it was a mosaic planters wart. At any rate, this may be where your little guy ends up, just as a heads up. But if both you and he are willing to try other things that might work, that can't be a bad thing. Good luck to you!! I had a wart frozen off and it does turn into a big blister and it also hurts. Give it a few more days and see what happens, the blister will eventually go away, pain too. If that doesn't work, aspirin paste and duct tape work too. I don't think it would be a good idea to do this to your son and its kinda gross. I got rid of some plantars warts I had for 10 years by sicking a needle in it until it hurt, then burning the end with a lighter until the needle turned red, twice. It went away and has not come back in over a year. Good luck

We are going through this with my 17 yo ds right now. His is on his toe and huge. We were told he would have to go back several times (they scrape and freeze it). Each time they do it, they are just getting the top layer off. The wart will continue to grow until the whole thing is killed, so the deeper it is, the longer it will take. My ds' is very painful as well.

This may sound very weird, but about 8 years ago I had a wart on my thumb, my mom bought it off of me with $1.00. You cannot spend the dollar for I think it was a year, but 2 weeks after she "bought" it off of me it was gone and it never has come back! It is worth a try.

I've heard of the duct tape thing.....my neice did it and it worked.
