Wanting to Work from Home..... - Jessup,MD

I was wondering if any of you moms are working from home & what are you doing? There is so much out there I don't know what to do. I went back to work part time. Today I didn't work & I miss being at home making my family dinner. I hate trying to get everything done in the morning & afternoons so I can be out of the house by 3:30. I hate the fact that I have my 16 yr old son helping with my 3 yr old so I can go to work (which my husband is home like 3 hrs later). Thanks.

What can I do next?

C., my best advice is to find a job you like, apply, go to interview, impress them and once you get the feeling they like you enough and you might get an offer, tell them you were wondering if they would consider letting you telecommute. that's what I did. It's been almost 2 years I work from home.
i had consider a lot of those internet things, selling, crafts cosmetics but in reality I am not a seller.I couldn't sell a kidney to a person in need of a kidney. I develop language proficiency tests in different languages, and work from home full time. I go into the office once in a few months which is about an hr and 15 min drive. But I wouldn't have been able to do that on daily basis.
good luck

Have you heard of Scentsy "the Authentic Wickless Candles"? It's a safe alternative than candles. Scentsy is a decorative warmer that use a 25 watt bulb to melt the wax. It's not hot to the touch and you can leave them on all day and not worry about something burning. The company has been around for 3 years and is growing daily! Just to give you and idea of how fast we are growing, is we had 632 consultants sign up in January. Majority of our consultants is on the West Coast. In Maryland we have 12 consultants and Delaware 1. The products sell themselve and nothing is over $25. If your interested in becoming part of this great team please check my website out at

Hey C.!

I am a single mom of an 8 month old beautiful baby boy, with no help from the father. I am trying to stay at home with my baby for as long as possible and the company I am working with has allowed me to do so thus far. SO, If you are still looking for something...I know JUST the thing to help you work around the children, your husband AND school.

Have you ever heard of Melaleuca? It's a Wellness Company. They manufacture wellness and environmentally sensitive products for the home and for personal care.

I'm trying to tell as many people as possible about these products and I think everyone should have them in their home.

ALTHOUGH...there is a start up fee...this month it is only $14.50 compared to $29 normally. Before you cancel it out, let me just tell you that I have been doing this for not even a month and my first check will be here the 15th. I am very excited about it!

If you are interested, I would love for you to contact me to view a presentation and hear more about them. The presentation is about 40 minutes long. They will tell you everything and anything you need to know about the company and how it operates. It is so informational. I learn more and more every time I watch it.

There are presentations everyday, so whatever time and day works best for your schedules, we can accommodate.

Best of Luck to You and Yours,

Pam

Knowing your background or interests might be helpful to provide better responses. I, too, have been looking for ways to work from home. One thing I've learned is that the majority of opportunities rely on you establishing your own "pyramid" in order to make money. Most WFH opp's follow the old addage "If it's too good to be true, it probably is". I may be missing something as well, but I have done A LOT of research and have yet to find something which didn't require me to create my own extension of some company in order to make money (in which case, why did I need the "parent" company for anything other than a plan).

Most of my WFH friends do medical transcripting (for which you need to take a certification course) or scoping (for law offices) or sell products like Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Discovery Toys, Home Interiors, Creative Memories, Heritage Makers, etc. They love that they can control their time investment by choosing their availability for hosting or doing shows. But, they all insist that you need to really love the product you are promoting in order to be successful, and you need the buy-in and support from your husband whom you'll rely on to be with the kids while you "work".

I am pursuing Pampered Chef because I love their products, I enjoy cooking, I love to share good finds and pass on tips, and I love to socialize. Also, I know giving up an afternoon or evening during the weekend along with a weeknight a couple of times a month is acceptable to my husband and me, so being a consultant would be an easy way to earn money. In fact, the break from my stay-at-home life with the kids would be a treat! If I want to be ambitious I can encourage people to become consultants under my direction, but I don't need them to make money, and I can just manage myself.

So, again, look at what you like to do, what skills you have, discuss with your husband what sacrifices you think are acceptable, and what money you "need" to supplement his income in order to meet your financial goals. Then, look into opportunities to sell yourself based on those things whether it be your own business or working for someone else.

Good luck!

I'd like to share with you Arbonne International. I have copied some information from my website. Please feel free check it out and send me an email if you have any questions. Arbonne has allowed me to stay home full time and raise my daughter.

What if there was a way to start a home-based business, just like more than 50 million households did last year, and participate in a $100 billion industry that allows you to:

• Do something you already know how to do
• Work alongside your main job until you've created a large enough secondary income
• Blend family, friends and fun with work and income, allowing more time for both
• Determine your daily activities; instead of someone else determining them for you
• Begin with minimal start up expenses, unlike expensive franchises and other small businesses
• Take advantage of tax savings offered to
small businesses

• Would you like to have more time and money for your family?
• Do you value having creative control over your life and work?
• Would you like to benefit from the advantages of owning your own business?
• Do you care about others and want to make a positive difference contributing to people's lives?

If any, or all, of the above are true for you, Arbonne International might just be what you've been looking for.

I will take it again because a girl I know made 5 thousand dollars last month on that. Well at least that is what she told me. Anyway goodluck! I know that you will pass. Take Care!

Hi C.! I am B. Deck and I work from home with Ameriplan. I help people save on their dental and medical expenses. I am a mother of 5, and we were finding it extremely hard to live on one income. Working outside the home was not an option for me. I make around $600 a week, depending on how much time I work the business. With our children 14, 10, 8, 3, and 2, my hours have to vary per day. But that is one of the great things about working from home! Let me tell you a little about how the business works. For every IBO (Independent Business Owner) that you sign up, you will get paid $90. Plus they will pay you $15 of residual income per day for that one person. That really adds up. The $90 is mailed to you right away. The residual income checks are mailed on the 18th of every month. Member packages for the benefits works the same way. If you enroll a member for the largest medical package you will get paid $107. Residual income works the same way. You also receive free vision, Rx, dental, and chiropractic benefits for your whole household. You will receive a 401K too! Ameriplan is not insurance, but discount plans that gives you better savings than most insurances.

I hope I didn't lose you with all the info. Feel free to look up my web at www.freedomathometeam.com/BDeck. You can also look up the medical and dental plans at www.DeliveringOnThePromise.com/BDeck.

Feel free to contact me with any questions. Working for this company has made a world of difference for our family. I would love to help yours!!

Hello my name is J. Fulton

My children are grown now the youngest is graduating from high school. Yes, I was a stay at home mom for years. But, I can enjoy my days now, knowing I had given my little ones the best possible start.

What I'm trying to do is for all the Moms out there; that wish to stay at home with their children, and find a way to bring balance their lives! Be at home, and at the same time contribute to the family income.

I've recently done some online research on this exact topic. Currently, I have established myself as e-reps for the following companies: Avon, Melaleuca and Tupperware........no collecting money or making door to door deliveries these days. These companies present you with a personalized webpage to establish your customer base.

I'm just starting my own at home based company; don't know how this is going to work exactly, but I’m trying for the kids. If you are interested in my research which is a free "Home Business Based Newsletter", just drop me a note here.

There are too many online scams out there! I am absolutely sure you would like to hear about all my pitfalls. I'll be happy to share what I have learned for your little darlings. The reason I have posted for you to contact me; is that I’m a firm believer in not spamming.

Have a great day!

J.

Hi C.
My name is A. and I remember when my twins were born 19 yrs ago. I went back to work and cried the whole way there. Needless to say when I got there I turned around and went back home and never had a full time job again and had two more children now ages 15 and 17. We did without the few extras for awhile. Now my husband and I run a successful plumbing company but it seems like the better it gets the more we have to work; which is why I went looking for a home based business. I have been thru a couple and have now found the perfect one. I now run my own skin care business. The support and women are phenomenal. I would love to share some information with you if you would like to email me at ____@____.com. I promise I won't hound you. I empathize with you wanting to stay at home and take care of your family. Oh and I too am taking online classes to finish my goal of a Bach. in Business. Good Luck to You

The original request is old, but I'm sure many are still looking.

This information is for business opportunities where you can work at your own pace.

There are a lot of companies to choose from. Thinking about what interests you have and find a company that offers products you enjoy. Beyond that you need to check on fees, commissions, various ways you can promote the product, shipping costs and timelines, and online capabilities.

Find out if you will be required to make monthly purchases and/or carry inventory.

Good luck,

I work from home. It has been a battle though! There are not a lot of companies out there that encourage the work from home. I guess it just depends on you. What is your passion? Find your passion. I enjoy doing bookkeeping and billing. I do work for Construction companies. I am getting ready to interview for a position with a Gov. contractor working from home. I tried selling cookbooks, fake perfume, skin care. Did not work for me. I also tried the MOM team and Melaleuca and did not find success there either. I worked my butt off with that too and in the end was out a ton of money from buying leads. Now, I just let people come to me for the health stuff and I look at the money I earn in commissions as a savings to my grocery bill or some months a $15 coupon. It does not matter so much to me though, because I know I am providing the best I can for my family. So, that takes my passion back to my billing business. I agree that to work from home, you should go on interviews and offer it to them. Let them know they will save money in so many ways if you work for them from home. There are benefits. Have you tired www.momcorps.com They might be able to help. I am also taking courses to be a virtual assistant. You may want to look into something like that or medical billing? There are some option, you just need to make sure to find your passion first and you will succeed.HTH
