I was just wondering how well it works, and also how hard would it be to remove from my kids playroom wall? I don't know much about it & thought it would be cool for a new decorating idea. thanks so much!

What can I do next?

I LOVE CHALKBOARD PAINT. Growing up my Stepmother painted the hall so we coudl write on the walls we loved it. I painted a huge wall in my boys room and the have a blast with it too! A great learning tool. Currently we have the list of what to do when you get up. I highly recommend it!

here's the deal... 3 coats of paint, 3 hours bedtween coats and 3 days to dry!! So it takes a bit but well worth it and your kids won't outgrow it for a LONG time!!
Let me know how it turns out!!! We got a border and put it around it so it looks like a chalkboard!

Have Fun,

We just painted a "chalkboard" on one wall of each of our children's room. I didn't find it to be particularly smelly, at least not any worse than other paints.

We also put a larger section of magnetic primer underneath the chalkboard paint, so that the kids could use magnets and chalkboard on the walls. So far, my only complaint on the magnetic primer is that it seems to require fairly strong magnets, esp. if you are trying to hang up artwork or a poster or picture or something. Another thing that we initially freaked out about was the magnetic primer is supposed to go under your regular paint color. Well, when you paint on the primer it goes on black, almost as dark as chalkboard paint, but we had no trouble painting over it, it just took the regular 2 coats.

Good Luck!

We love it. We have a large square of it in my son's room and in my office for jotting down little notes. The key is to do one coat, and wait a full day to put the second coat. It really does work wonderfully. I don't know about removing it b/c we haven't done that yet. Our son loves drawing pics on his, and we practice letters recognition.

i haven't used it but the Menards home center near me has it on clearance, so was going to try it. Someone at work who has used it said it's wonderful, but very stinky, so wait til you can open all the windows to paint it and keep the kiddos out of the house if you can while painting and the initial air out. a friend used it at then used molding to put up a border around it so they can tell their boundaries!-oops i see faith said the same thing about the molding!

and if you were to move, you wouldn't be able to remove it. If you wanted to avoid painting direct on the wall, get a big sheet of the board that goes in the base of cabinets, i forget the name, masonite I think maybe... then just paint that and attach to the wall. but if you needed to paint over it, you'd probably have to use Kilz or another high hiding primer
