Wall Decals - Plainfield,IL
My son, who is going to be 10, has decided he would like to redo his room as his birthday present - he still has dinosaurs from when he was 3! He picked dragons as his theme, so I'm looking for large-ish dragon decals to put on his wall. i googled for hours last night to the point that the only way to get them might be to draw and submit them as custom. He would like realistic, but not TOO scary. Any suggestions on where to look, or has anyone seen anything like this?
Thanks!

I would look at etsy - www.etsy.com - there are a lot of ideas there and you can probably find someone to custom make some for a decent amount of money.
Good luck!

My friend did her son's room with a dragon theme....not too scary but realistic. They did something on the wall that was not a painted mural. They ordered it and put it up themselves. It was a castle/dragon theme and was personalized to say "Castle of Nathan." If you are interested, let me know and I can ask her where they ordered it from. It was really neat.
Michael's has a lot of large wall decals.
My mom has an interior design business as well if you need some ideas/help. If you would like her number, you can send me a message.

Wallies has a castle with dragon theme but it may be too juvenile with him (plus it doesn't cover the whole wall).

Hi, I saw wall decals recently at Target. I was looking at baby girl themed ones so didn't see if they had dragons but you could check...

If you are interested in posters Art.com has some neat items for a reasonable price especially if you frame them yourself. I might go the temporary rout since kids change their likes and dislikes so quickly at this age.

Years ago my twin boys wanted a Thomas the Train Theme for their room. I painted a large mural on the wall (I used a picture from a book). It looked awesome. The only problem was that when we moved I couldn't take it with us. I would suggest a canvas painting of a dragon or two that you can put up or take down as you like. If you cannot draw or paint then find a local starving artist to do it for you. Ask at the library for names of artists. They display their works at the libraries all the time so they should have a few names they can give you. If you wanted to do it your self but can't draw use an overheard projector to project the image on the wall and trace it. All you have to do after that point is acrylic paints. Good Luck hope this helps.

I was looking for butterflies in certain colors and sizes, from 1" to 2 ft and couldn't find them any where either. Than I checked out ebay and found a seller from Korea that made custom wall decals. I had 40 butterflies, 20 leaves, 12 stars and a dozen 3 ft tall flowers made all for just under $100! They were better than any decals I've seen in stores, they look like they were painted on.
