Walking on Toes - Kansas City,MO

My daughter has recently started walking around on her toes. Not all the time but she seems to be doing it more often these days. When you tell her to walk on her feet she will so I wonder if she is just doing it for fun!?!? She doesn't wear shoes when she is inside at daycare. I don't want her to have problems so any advice would be GREATLY apprecited!

What can I do next?

Thanks for all of your responses. We talked to the Dr. and he also said it was fine. As long as she is walking on her heels some of the time, which she is! Thank you!

I wouldn't worry to much. I walked on my toes when I was little. The funny thing is my mom walked on her toes and so did one of my nieces when the were little. I'm not sure if my daughter will but we will see. The good thing is we all grew out of it and the only affect it had on any of us was great calf muscles. :)

My son is still doing it and he is almost 2. I read it's part of their development and not to worry. Mine doesn'tt wear shoes unless he is outdoors. This is normal, nothing to worry about

Toe walking is a normal habit some toddlers develop. If it still continues by her next check up I would bring it up to her doctor. They normally check/watch their walking on their check-ups.

In some cases it can be a sign of other problems.

My daughter and my niece both do or have done this. My daughter, who just turned 3, has now stopped. It is kind of odd when you see it, but it's completely normal! I found that when she wore shoes (which wasn't much) she didn't do it.
