Wagon for Toddler
Hi moms! My little guy will be turning 1 next month and we'd like to buy a wagon for his birthday. Can you please either recommend one or let me know which to avoid? I'd like to have one that could carry two kids if we need that in the future. Thanks so much! You're always so helpful!

The only thing I wished we did different is find the one that had the backrests that come up and had seatbelts, that way you can actually walk looking forward when they get to the age when they think that they can stand up and jump out while you are moving!!!

We have a Step 2 wagon and love it! The great thing about the Step 2 products is that they are made in the USA! I would highly recommend these products!

Here's the US Consumer Product Safety Commission website to check for recalls on whichever wagon you are looking to get: http://www.cpsc.gov/ (Type in "WAGON" and you'll get plenty of ones to avoid.)
This looks promising, but I didn't check it for recalls: http://www.step2.com/wagons/index.cfm?ppcyah=wagons&0...

I would just make sure to check out the accessory part cost as well. See how easy and pricey it is to acquire them. We didn't research that part and should have. A canopy or umbrella would have been nice for our Radio Flyer wagon with two seats, two cup holders and a door. The kids loved it and it's easy to steer, too. The storage compartment is nice for my keys and water when we go for long walks or even snacks that they don't want to hold all the time.

We have one my paretns got us. Make sure it's a radio flyer......they are classic for wagons and trycicles and such. the one we have is preatty big, has big tires....it's the "rugged" one. It has wooded panels that come out...it's great. It's easy to move in the grass. I recommend it highly. I have a friens who has a plastic one.....not as great, they front wheels are not connected to the handle, makes it VERY hard for steering, so stay away from one's like that!
HAve fun once you get one!

My son got a wagon for his first birthday and he loved it! We have had it almost 6 years now (he'll be 7 this summer) and it is still in great shape. He got a radio flyer one that has rubber wheels. We live on a gravel road so I knew that the plastic wheeled ones wouldn't work and I am so glad we have this one. We have taken it everywhere. It has two seats and a storage compartment under one. There are two drink holders and a door to get in and out of. We wouldn't change a thing about our wagon, although I am sure there are new things out there. So, I guess my biggest suggestion would be to go with one with rubber tires. The plastic ones are harder to move and the rubber ones seem to take just about anything. Good luck! Here is a link with one lke ours. It has changed a little but still looks similar and has the same tires. http://radioflyer.stores.yahoo.net/raflpaplwa.html

We have the Radio Flyer one that seats two and has cupholders. The seat backs can fold down to make a flat wagon where they could lie down in it or you could carry an infant with a blanket in there. It's sturdy plastic and easy to use.

I would make sure it has safety belts and rubber wheels. The plastic wheels are so loud that it's not even worth getting it out.
