Vitimans for Teenage Girl (16)

Good Day Moms. I wonder if anyone could recommend a good vitiman for my teenage daughter. She eats very little vegetables and NO fruit. I would like to get her started with a vitiman. Help!

What can I do next?

Hi there. Prenatal vitamins with calcium are the best for someone of that age - if you can't find one with calcium then give her one of the calcium chews (the chocolate or butterscotch flavored ones) with Vit D in it.
I say prenatal not because we want her to start thinking about kids but because she will get the iron and folate she needs to avoid anemia and prepare her body for adulthood. Vit D we are discovering has implications for prevention of cancers and chronic pain issues and many folks, women in particular, are depleted in this wonder vitamin. Calcium because she is building bone still and the calcium she has now will forestall osteoporosis and other bone issues later.
Hang in there with her. The human body is amazingly resilient and she will be fine!

I give my 15 year old Corplex and a meal replacement shake every morning on her way out the door. My personal trainer told us that getting a good breakfast in her every morning was key to setting the standard for her day. She eats a regular breakfast if we have time, but she plays volleyball, so we are on the go a lot. It's definitely helping her performance. You have to buy it online, but if you become a member you get a 20% discount, so that helps) The brand is AdvoCare -- you should check it out sometime. Especially if she is in sports or if she struggles with weight. (under or over)

Hi D.! Melaleuca has a wonderful vitamin--scientifically proven to be very highly absorbable--able to get to the cellular level where the nutrition is needed in order to aid the body. . . so many vitamins and particularly the minerals simply pass through our bodies without being absorbed. . . Melaleuca's patent pending delivery system enables the absorpption--it is unique to Melaleuca alone! I can give you many more details; I am an advance practice nurse (I have my masters in nursing) as well. . . it is smart of you to be concerned about your daughter's health!

I can be reached at ____@____.com Thanks!

I use Doctor's Choice for Female Teens for my daughter, who is 17 next month. We've used it for a few years and like it a lot. It calls for 4 tablets daily, but we only use 2 as my daughter does eat fruit and vegetables. It is made by Enzymatic. I purchase it at my local health food store. It is kind of pricey, but a bottle of 120 lasts us about 2 months. There is an email address on the label. It is www.enzy.com/for women. Best of luck.

I started taking One A Day Women when I was a teenager. Its a good habit to get into.

Juice Plus is vegetable and fruit served in a capsule. They are available as gummies or chewables for children. I tried them for adults and noticed a difference. (My challenge is in remembering to take them!) Now awaiting my shipment of gummies for my children. These are not vitamins, so you still could use a vitamin supplement, but these capsules are advertised as providing our bodies the correct daily servings of vegetables and fruit. I am not a distributer, and have only been using them for a few weeks. I wish I could tell you I've been using them for years, and they are a definite plus, so as with all things, you'll have to do your homework and research it for yourself. I was just sick and tired of feeling sick and tired and thought, why not. There are no additives, simply compressed fruit and vegetables. You can read more about it online at: https://www.juiceplus.com/nsa/content/Welcome.soa

Dear D.,
Whole food is the way to go, but since your teenage daughter is not much of an eater in that department, may I suggest Juice Plus+? It's 17 fruits, veggies and grains, easy to take in the form of capsules, chewables or gummies and backed by 14 independent medical-journal published studies! I have taken it for 8 1/2 years and would not be a day without it EVER!
I love it so much that I became a rep! I can refer you to my website, but you would have to request it of me by email since we are prohibited from giving website addresses on MamaSource. My email address is ____@____.com, by the way, your teenager can get Juice Plus+ for free via the Juice Plus+ Children's Health Study initiative if you decide to order it, too! I'll be happy to tell you more about that, if you'd like to know.
Blessings!

Hi D.-

We use One-A-Day Vitamins for Teenage Girls. They work very well for my 16 year old. We have also used Nature's Plus Ultra Source of Life liquid vitamins (can be purchased from any vitamin store). This particular vitamin gave her lots of energy. I hope this helps.
