Video Game System

I have a question for you wonderful ladies out there who have kids who like video games or husband who like video games. I wanted to buy my husband a video game like X-Box, Wii or Play Station 3 from the kids for Fathers Day. I do not know which is best and which will "probably" NOT be outdated the moment I leave the store. Does anyone have any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Thank you all for your responses. You all are always so helpful. I'm going with the X Box. He will be able to play with his friend in Philly which would so fun for him. The Wii would be great for the whole family maybe a good family Xmas gift when my little girl is a little older so she could play too.

I think the Wii would be great for him and the whole family. We have friends with children who LOVE it. My husband just bought the X-BOX 360 and likes it a lot. He is the only one who uses it though. The Playstation 3 plays Blu-Ray discs, so it is probably pretty cool. I have not seen or used it personally though...Happy shopping!

I would highly recommend the Wii! It's got a lot of the interactive games, and our kids love it. And we can actually play some of the games all together as a family. Very cool! I think it was a great investment! They have even 'bowled' against their grandparents...

Speaking from a family who has all THREE video game systems, I ask what you are looking for in video game entertainment. We are going on our third Xbox now. My husband plays this the most. It has good mature games and a few ones for kids, too. He plays online with friends and really enjoys the quality of the games. The Playstation 3 was a "must-have" two Christmases ago but he complains there just aren't enough good games for it. The Wii is excellent if you want an interactive experience for the family. My kids really love it. My husband only plays this with them. For a true Father's Day gift, I'd say Xbox will give you the most bang for your buck.

lol we have all of them...if you can believe that...and I agree the WII is the best because of the fact the whole family can play and he wont be in front of the tv by himself play the dang thing.

We got a Wii for X-mas after trying my cousin's,and we have really enjoyed it. It seems to have a lot going for it so it can continue to be adaptable as new technology is out. I also love that alot of the games require my kids get up and move which is a plus. I also think Nintendo does a nice job with games for kids-my kids love all the Mario games, and they seem to market them for a little younger player. We had a Gamecube before which was also good for my younger kids, but you can't get any new games for it anymore. You can, however, play Gamecube games on the Wii system, and you could probably get a Gamecube and games used for pretty cheap.

I think the Wii too. Some of the games are active so your family is not sitting around staring at the TV screen. Wii fit sounds fun, we don't have it but would love to. Boxing is a blast and a total workout!
