I found a cat this afternoon that had been abandoned. The poor thing is almost skin and bones and is in dire need of a vet. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced vet in the Natomas area? I'm not sure we'll be keeping the cat but she does desperately need health care and decent food for awhile.

So What Happened?

I have a friend who lives down in Davis and took the cat to her vet. Turns out he's a really old kitty and is on his last legs. He's got tyroid problems and bad teeth and all kinds of smaller issues as well. They're keeping him overnight for an evaluation and will then let us know what the best prospective is for him. My friend will keep him as I live in an apartment and can't keep pets, and I'll help pay the vet bill.
Thank you all for your help and suggestions. :)

Perhaps check with an SPCA or the Pound? They might help the cat for free. I've heard you can leave a cat for them to help, and if no one adopts the cat and they were in a position to have to put it to sleep, you can make a request that they call you first, so you have the option to come pick it up. I can't cofirm this, but it might be worth checking out.

Hi A.. We use Banfield Pet Hospital (near Walmart - next to Staples) and have for quite some time. We have had very good luck with them. Good luck!

A., I think it's wonderful what you are trying to do. My vet is in Natomas the name of the place is Discovery Plaza Vet.Here's their phone number: ###-###-####. I hope you decide to keep the cat especially if you are going to put money into her care. But while there you can check their lost pet board and see if she's listed. Let me know what happens as I have 2 cats and my teenage daughter has 1 cat. I also have a hearing dog and her father has a dog so we have a busy animal family.
