Has anyone had a vbac after a vertical incision that went into he unterian muscle? I know most drs don't want to go there, but I don't want to have to go through another csection again. I will if I have no other choice but would like some feedback. Thanks!

What can I do next?

i think the odds are pretty much zero of you finding any physician, midwife, etc. that will do that. and if you do find one, i'd run fast! vbac after a horizontal incision are "iffy", but i've never heard of any competent medical professional that would do one after a vertical incision. another c-section would be MUCH better than a uterine rupture.

I would not chance it. Especially with a vertical incision. AND... how long ago was that? Because it matters.

Only your existing Doctor (that performed the c-section) would know your medical history. Have you asked him/her about it?

Also, many hospitals will not okay it... and medial insurance may not cover it either. So there are many factors involved.

This would be considered a no-no, and in my opinion, not worth the risk of rupture. My dr would not consider a VBAC for me, and most hospitals don't allow it anymore. I have had two c-sections. The first was unplanned, and it was not a good experience after a very long, difficult labor. With the last one, I went into labor, but went straight to c-section, and it was so much better. The procedure and recovery was really, really unexpectedly easy.

I highly recommend Dr. Yolanda Lawson in Dallas. She is a wonderful doctor with a very high VBAC rate. I've had two VBACs with her, and I absolutely love her.

My SIL had a vbac after a verticle incision, but there was 10 years between her children. That being said, they didn't allow her to do it after her 2nd child. If I remember right, the guidelines changed inbetween her two youngest and her doctor wouldn't allow it her 2nd time. If it makes you feel any better, she said her scheduled c section was MUCH easier than her first with the verticle incision (an emergency)

Good luck!

I would recommend contacting Dr. Fredick Cummings in denton prespy...He will give you the most honest opinion. My friend just delivered a 10 pound baby Vbac with him..

I'm afraid I have to agree with Jennifer. Why chance this?
