Vacuums - Milwaukee,WI

I need a new vacuum. I have a Kenmore, but I don't care for it. I have mainly hardwood floors and this has a bare floor setting but all it does is blow the stuff around. When you come up on dirt and furballs head on, it sucks them up, anything on the sides though gets blown around. I have a cat w/ lots of cat hair and my long hair adding to it, we don't really need it blowing around. Yet, I still prefer to vacuum than sweep. So, I need a vacuum that doesn't have the air blowing out from underneath it. I also would like to be able to vacuum under tables and things. When I try to get under my table w/ my kenmore if I bend the handle to much to get all the way under the table, it just lifts the vacuum head up off the floor.

I've looked at the Shark Navigator Lift Away and I really like it, but before I spend money on a new one I'd like some opinions. thanks!!

What can I do next?

I love my Miele and they are made mainly for hardwoods but also have attachments for carpet. I've had mine for over 10 years and it still works fine and has a hepa filter. They are pricy but last.

Dyson. When my Dyson Drive dies (showing no signs) I'll get a Dyson Ball. Our Dyson was worth every cent!

I love my Dyson overall, but for our hardwood floors and the dogs tumbleweeds of hair we use a stick vac..it's a Bissell, $50 at Target and the base is shaped like a "V" so you can get up against couch feet, etc.

It's great and the first stick vac we haven't burned out the motor within the first month because of all of our husky's dog hair.

I have 2 Dysons, an upright and a canister. I love them both for different reasons. For getting under tables, under beds, vacuuming stairs, upholstery, etc, I really love the canister vacuum. It's so easy that even my 6 year old can maneuver it around. :) Our other vacuum is the Dyson ball, and it is also easy for quick vacuuming. We have hardwood floors in our living room, entry, and kitchen, and I vacuum them every day with the Dyson ball. It is very maneuverable and gets every last little bit of dust/dirt up, but in terms of fitting underneath furniture, the canister vacuum is easier for me. You should go to Best Buy and try out all the vacuums there and see which kind you like the best.

I just bought a new Dyson Animal Canister vacuum and I LOVE IT! Yes, it was expensive. Yes, my husband said I could pick new iPad or Dyson... I picked Dyson and am so glad I did! :) Yes it was expensive, but I use it at least twice a week, sometimes as much as 3-4 times a week, and it is great.

Unlike everyone else, I hate my Dyson. We have lots of hardwood and two cats. I feel like it just blows everything around instead of sucking it up. I also think it does a lousy job in the rooms with carpet. With the money we spent on it, I'm going to keep it for a few more years and get rid of it. I hope you get some suggestions other than Dyson because I need help too :)

Eureka Comfort Oh is the BEST vacuum we have ever had. I don't have hardwood floors so I don't know about that, but it sucks up everything like you wouldn't believe. If you use it on carpet it's very startling (and kinda gross) to see all that it's sucked up. We bought ours online at Target a few years ago and it's still going strong. Highly recommend!

Roomba. It's a robot, so you just turn it on and it vacuums by itself.

I love ours. Changed my life - not as much as Tivo, but it's up there.
