travelzoo.com is a great site for deals, if you watch it you might be able to get Cancun/Riveria Maya for a few days for that price. We booked the Iberostar beach resort, all inclusive for about $89 a night a person and kids are free. There are some more deals for that particular resort chain on this site also, I ended up saving $150 by booking thru them. If you go soon, your kid would fly for free also. http://www.iberostar-board.com/boards/index.php
Let me know if you find something there is also a coupon code on www.retailmenot.com for spiritair.com, although they charge for baggage now and seat assignments, We are hoping we won't have to pick our seats ahead of time I don't want to spend the money on that too.
I am going in Oct. with a 5 yr. old and my 20 mth old.

Hi A. - not sure where you live, but in Zion, IL (near Waukegan) there is the Illinois State Beach Park. Not too far and you get a beach! There is a resort on the beach also.

Have you looked into the Wisconsin Dells, or I know there are some nice kid-friendly resorts at Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH. They have beaches too, since it's on Lake Erie.

Check out Indiana Beach in Monticello, Indiana. We went last year for the first time (my husband had been as a child several times). We rented a small 2 bedroom cabin for about $600.00. It is right on Lake Shaffer so there are beach areas and there is a small water park inside the amusement park. We enjoyed ourselves so much last year we are going again this year and renting a house on the lake.

The dells might be perfect for you - Stay at one of the waterpark hotels...go out to dinner, go on the duck, etc. I think you could do a lot there for $800.00. Myrtle Beach is another place that can be fun and rather inexpensive because you're primarily at the beach all day - The drive there would be the most expensive part!

Have a great vaca

There are a ton of beaches in Michigan along the Lake. Google for info....
You can plan a weekend road trip for sure! These are very popular beaches for families. St. Joe's is one of the closer beach towns. Grand Haven is another popular one, but i think a bit further.
Hope this helps!
