Vacation Idea

Hi! I'm planning to take a little vacation in late April or early May. I have no desire to fly or drive for hours. (I've done that quite a few times already...) I'd like to find a waterpark or a resort right around the metro area where I can relax and spend a great time with the kids. I have a two-year-old girl and a six-month-old boy. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If do not mind a small drive my family loves the Serenghetti Water Park in the Holiday Inn in Owatonna,MN. The Serrenghetti is in a quite area in Owatonna. The nice park of this water park is it is quiet and not over stimulating for young kids. My son and his friends absolutely loved it there. We plan to go back again this spring. For the sport enthusiasts there is a Capellas within walking distance.
The Water Park is not as loud and big as the water park hotel in Brooklyn Park.

We will not be revisting the one in Brooklyn Park. My son was so cold at the Brooklyn Park his lips were blue and he would not play in the water. A huge dissapointment since it was expensive to go there. My son also was overstimulated by the constant noises going signaling that water was going to fall in the little kids section. This park is great for kids over 7 years old but for our little one too stimulating and cold.

Another water park hotel is the Holiday Inn in Otsego,MN 45 minutes northwest near Rodgers and Elk River, MN. We have not been there yet but it looks nice. I have seen it on my way to sisters house. It recently just opened. It is BRAND NEW!
I am not sure if the the water park by the Mall of America is finished yet.
Good Luck with your vacation-
J.

Hello,

I am not sure if this is what you had in mind but I had to ideas for you.

In Duluth there is the new waterpark inside the Edgewater Hotel.

Also in Wisconsin Dells there are quite a few water resorts.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

J. in Duluth, moving to the cities

In Owatonna, there is a GREAT indoor water park that the kids would love at the Holiday Inn. Also there is an outlet shopping center too. It's close and fun...thought you might want to check it out. (Medford Outlet)

You might already know this but, the water park near Mall of America is going to open in May, so it might be perfect for you.

Hi J. - there is Grand Rios in Brooklyn Park which is an indoor water park and hotel. It's suppose to be a lot of fun. Sorry to hear about your hubby leaving - that must be difficult.
Thanks,
M.
