Using Acupuncture to Increase Fertility
Am looking for moms who have had both good and bad experiences using this procedure to increase fertility. Those that have had luck - do you know of any acupunturists in northwest indiana? I live in Schereville. Also, how often do you have to do it to see any results? Is it expensive?

I went to weekly acupuncture with a doctor in Chinatown, Chicago and paid $60 for a 45 minute session. I even had a seed implanted in my ear and drank this hideous, "natural" tea, boiled at my home with things that I would never touch if I was on a nature walk in the rainforest. It did not work for me, but I will tell you...after the first couple of weeks of releasing toxins from my body, it felt great. I was almost as relaxed as having a massage. I truly believe that it can't hurt you and just might help. Good luck.

I had infertility problems and read about use of accupunture in my reproductive endocrinologist's office. I believe it is used to improve/increase the number of eggs produced during ovulation. Since it was discussed in my very mainstream medical doctor's office, I imagine it is at least somewhat effective! For me, weight loss, diet, and IVF with drugs as needed was the trick, so I never tried it personally. Good luck!

I C.,
I've heard accupuncture is effective. I also would suggest reflexology. The guy I go to, Eric Huffman has a 100% success rate. I sent a friend to see him who was told she would never get pregnant. She went once $100 for a one hour session. She now has a 1 1/2 year old daughter. He's in the Lincoln Square neighborhood of Chicago though. Worth the trip, if you ask me. ###-###-####

I used Christie Jordan at Source Healing (you can check out their website), however, they are in Chicago so not sure that that helps you!. I had a good experience. It still took us about 10 months, with no other medical conditions - believe me I had everything checked! But I could only afford to go once a month instead of once a week which may have speeded things along. If nothing else, the acupuncture sessions were totally relaxing and made me feel like I was in good hands. I know many other people who have used acupuncture with success too. Good luck!

I don't know if I had any fertility problems, but I had 1 or 2 treatments during the right time of the month (can't remember when that is), and I got pregnant first try. It increases blood flow to the area which increases chance of implantation.
Chiropractic adjustments also help.
Insurance might cover - mine did.

I have a friend who swears by it. She had difficulty conceiving, but says she was pregnant within a month of acupuncture and herbs from someone who specializes in Chinese techniques. She thought it was very relaxing as well. She plans to start right away with acupuncture when she's ready to conceive her #2. If you're interested in a name, happy to get it for you, but I am in Chicago. Good luck!

I have several of friends who had IVF done and it has failed and accupunture has help them conceive. Lots of insurance covers these accupunture procedures, mine covers them if the accupunturist is in a Chiropractic Office, but check with your insurance. The price varies average price $100 a session. If you want I can give you the info where my friends went.
