I work full time and am gone from 545am-6pm and have 2 small kids so needless to say I do not have much time to excersize or go to a gym. I am in my 40's and probably do not even consume the alotted calories per day (bowl of high fiber cereal at breakfast, 12oz cup of soup for lunch and chicken, fish for dinner) but seem to be stuck at a certain weight and cant seem to lose the 5-10lbs I desire to. I tried rasbery keatone and lost nothing. Been on Plexus for a week now and while I lost 3lbs I have not lost any inches. I know of Ace and Advocare out there - havent tried those. Just wondering if you've used a similar product and have gotten resullts from it. Seems like alot of it is a waste of money.

So What Happened?

Have had blood work done (thought it might be a thyroid issue cause since last year I gained 12lbs) but everything came back good.

I haven't tried that but you may want to consider not eating cereal for breakfast and having a protein shake or egg instead. I had a friend that lost 10 lbs by doing nothing but adding protein to her breakfast and cutting carbs in the morning.

I'm in my 50's and tried everything to lose weight. The only thing that worked for me was to change what I was eating. I removed almost all processed food and started eating a lot of fresh fruits and veggies. Since then the weight has been coming off without much work on my part. I feel better, skin looks much healthier, and the blood work I had done at my last physical showed quite an improvement in my overall health. I am currently tweeking a little more to see if I can drop my cholesterol levels using diet and exercise instead of medication.

So my advice would be to stop wasting your money on stuff that doesn't work and instead spend the same amount to better food for yourself and your family.

It may well be a waste of money. Spend your money on a checkup instead. Make sure you're healthy.

One thing that might help you is to journal every single thing you put in your mouth every day. You may be consuming too few calories, or you may be taking in more than you realize. If you can get it down on paper - every bit of it! - it will help you see more clearly. At least, it has worked that way with me, and I was highly embarrassed, too.

If you aren't getting enough calories, your body won't help you. If you aren't getting enough nutrients in what you eat, your body can't help you.

Are you ready to make major (read: probably permanent) changes in the way you eat and possibly in the way you move around? There are ways to burn calories that don't have to be done in gym.

But make sure you're healthy first.

They are all a waste of money. If you want to see results (especially if you only have a few pounds to lose but want to see inches come off) then you have to work out. If you can't make it to a gym then try to squeeze in some at home stuff 3-4 days per week. More important then cardio will be strength training. By building muscle you will naturally burn more cals per day, and as you tone your body will look smaller. There is no supplement out that can replace the work that has to be done if you want real results.

They're all a waste of money. If you're not consuming the recommended amount of calories then your body is in starvation mode (even if you don't feel like you're starving). I would up the amount of protein you're eating, add in snacks, and fresh fruit and veggies. It's counter-intuitive but you may need to eat more to lose.

Edited to add: if you eat 1200 calories per day and drink lots of water, almost anyone needing to lose weight should lose 6 pounds in a month. It's not the pills. It's fewer calories and cutting out junk.

There are very few diet products that work without causing a lot of central nervous system stimulation. Even so, the weight doesn't stay off.

It sounds to me like you are actually starving yourself, and so your body is reacting to the small number of calories coming in and actually storing fat. it's an evolutionary response programmed into our bodies so we can withstand periods of famine. If the soup you are eating is processed and full of preservatives, and if the cereal is high carb with additives, they're not giving you enough nourishment. The only significant protein I see on your list is chicken or fish at dinner, which is late in the day and not available to you during your highest energy needs.

There is a lot of fantastic research on cellular nutrition (well over 30 years' worth) and also on new studies for natural means of cholesterol and inflammation reduction. Genes that have been damaged by pollutants and toxins and disease and lifestyle choices can be repaired with natural peptides that are concentrated in a way to survive the digestive process.

Most pills that people take (for supplements, diet products, pain relief, prescription needs) have very very low absorption rates and are a waste of money. That's not to say everyone should go off their medications, not by any means. But there is so much that can be done to increase absorption and make sure that what you are taking in is not genetically modified, is clinically proven, and has high quality ingredients with significant testing. I've been able to wean off 5 prescriptions and improve my lab work, with increased energy and strength. This information has been all over the news and medical shows. Check out Trim Healthy Mama. I discovered their lifestyle plan (they don't like calling it a diet) about 2.5 months ago. I've lost 20lbs! They have a book explaining the plan along with recipes. It's the best $20 I've ever spent.

I have been on it for a month. It works! But you have to make sure to drink lots of water with it. I completely cut out pop and stick to a 1200 calorie diet. I lost about 6 lbs and it was water weight. I thought I wasn't losing either, but everyone has been complimenting me and saying that I'm looking slimmer. I am losing inches and the reason for that is because this product doesn't eat away your muscle like other stuff does. I'm going to be using it again next month, but I'm going to make sure I get on my treadmill with it. Keep up with it and you will see results and drink tons of water!
