Urine Bag Test Help

Hi B.! We had to have our 18 mo old wear a urine bag to check for UTI... It was no big deal at all. They actually taped it to her and she wore it in her diaper. We left there and she played for an hour or so, until I know that she went pee, and we took it off and put it in a sanatized bottle that the doctor's office gave us. We put it in the bottle and took it to the local lab. We had test results back in two days! The worse part was just pulling the taped bag off of her area down there, but she didn't even cry. GOOD LUCK! He'll do just fine!

We had to do that for our son, get a bag and put it on that morning of his appt when he woke. One time we put it on the nite before and it came off him and leaked all in the diaper. If they need the urine sample I would get the bag and put it on early morning before his appt.

Good Morning B., Fun times for sure. Our youngest son, now 32, had surgery on his urethra at like 14-15 months, he had two blockages and he couldn't pee more then a trickle without crying. Well we couldn't leave after until he peed.
We ran water, dripped water on him, let him blow bubbles in a cup with a straw, gave him a lot of drinks. This went on for like 2 hrs. UGH.. Finally they said call us when he wets. I dressed him put on his training pants, put him on my hip to walk out and Yup You guessed it, He PEED all over me.

So just be prepared to wait a while. He wasn't feeling anything because of the sleepy med's he had. You might be surprised that Hayden will think it's fun to get to pp in a cup or something!

My son had to have a urine test last month. We had just changed a wet diaper before the dr. said we had to have it done (it wasn't planned) so the ped. just gave us some Pedialyte, put the bag on him and waited a few minutes. Take a bottle or sippy cup to give the liquid to your son.
