Previously asked about switching doctors. My current doctor whom I have seen for over 8 yrs did a procedure 2 weeks ago, had to run out on appt for a emergency at hospital and said she would call me for a consult on to do an IUD or surgery. MInd you I have been on my period since July 14 (today is 8/3/2011). I have been on again off again for my period since April with maybe three days of dry days. I am going a little insane here with my body and including my sex life is little to nothing due to this.
The new doctor can't see me until the 8/19 so I have a few more weeks of bleeding before the new doctor will see me and want to do more testing.
Anyone have any idea's on how to treat this heaving bleeding until I can get to see the new doctor?? I have been taking IB's to help with the pain, and less the bleeding. I wonder how bad it is to take so much IB.

:( GOing insane with this heaving bleeding!!!!!!!!!

What can I do next?

Go to the ER.

I had a similar situation. When I finally went to the dr. and explained what was happening she read me the riot act. 'Do you realize you could bled to death? The fact that you are sitting here functioning is shocking to me'.

She gave me some medicine, put me on an iron pill, scheduled some tests, and sent me to an GYN that saw me 3 days later. When I told him my situation his response was 'Do you realize you could bled to death?'

Go to the ER. Now please.

GO to the er and have them see you now. This is too long and you could hemmorage. Please go in and get checked out asap. They may be able to do a D & C to get the bleeding to stop and clean you out and or a endometrial ablasion. Good luck.

Go to the Vitamin Shoppe and get some Chlorophyll and/or Floradix. Both of these are plant based iron and will help keep your blood supply up. With bleeding that much you're probably anemic and are going to run into issues.

You could try wearing Insteads or whatever softcup you like. You can have sex with those in, and it's not as messy. It does take some getting used to getting them in and out, but once you get the hang of what works for you, they're a God-send!

Beyond that, I don't have any suggestions. *hugs*

If you are soaking through a maxi pad in an hour then you are at risk for hemmorage.

Too much IB can really do a number on the lining of your stomach. Can you opt for more natural pain management, i.e. heating pad, stretches, etc?

Are you pre-menopausal?

I hope you get some answers soon!!
