Hello a friend of mine is moving and she has a bunch of formula that she hasn't used as her daughter is on Soy. She wants to donate the formula. Anyone know of anywhere to donate this in the Northern VA area?

What can I do next?

Is it unopened? Nowhere takes open stuff. You can cook with it like dryer milk in baking. You can't taste the difference. If unopened I donate to church or the Fisher house (military version of the Ronald McDonald house) as I know the military hospitals don't supply new moms with formula due to research that shows that moms that are given free formula at the hospital are 65% less likely to be breastfeeding at 6 months.

Local pediatricians may have a need for it. Try womens shelters, children and youth or even craigslist.

Hi,
thanks of thinking of someone else since you cant use it all.
You got great answers. Another Pregnancy Center is off Backlick Road called Assist. www.assistcpc.org I used volunteer there and now donate things there. Any Pregnancy Shelter would appreciate it! And its tax deductible and if you're feeling "lazy" and don't want to drive you could freecycle it and just set it on your doorstep and someone would would swing by and pick it up. www.freecycle.org

I would donate it to a church's food pantry or a womens shelter. I would check the date cause they will not take it if its expired or opened.
