Unstressing After Work
I work at a company as a supervisor. I am very stressed out and I want to know what you do to de-stress.
So What Happened?™
Thanks for your suggestions. I will try them. It is challenging finding exercise time because of my work/home schedule. Being a mom and working is challenging. I always relax more with my son, and with the weather starting to break it will be easier to take him out for walks and the park. I will also see if Yoga works and other meditation things. Thank you everyone.

I always go to work out when I am stressed. Yoga is a wonderful de-stressor. A warm bubble bath with lavender bubbles is great. For me, sex is a wonderful way to relieve stress. I started taking a lot of B vitamins and amino acids which are both good for stress. Vitamin D is great for mental alertness. Cinnamon is actually pretty good for stress and you can get pills at the health food store. Alcohol makes me fall right to sleep. I have a tremendous amount of stress in my life and these are some of the things that I do. You have to just find what works for you and go with it.

CHIROPRACTIC! I get adjusted and always feel the tension melt away. My chiro has a great calming effect on people and I leave feeling refreshed and ready to take on whatever comes next.

Exercise! Even if it's a walk with my kids or the Just Dance Wii game (which is hilarious, btw).

I switched from listening to secular music, to Christian music. Please forgive me if you are not a Christian. If you are, you can find any style of music with no garbage in it. And alot of the music, you would not even know it is Christian other than the band members are, and they just write uplifting good music, from classical, jazz, pop, country, rock, you name it. I tried it out a few years ago, and have been listening ever since! I can turn it on and feel my stress melt away with good tunes! Another idea is to treat yourself to a massage once a month!
I wish you a stress free weekend!

Meditation is awesome! If you know how to meditate you can close the door at work too (even if is the bathroom door) and take 5 minutes to de-stress. There are lots of ways to learn to meditate.
I also have a natural stress tablet that can help:

I find the working out helps wether you do it before or after work to help de-stress. I also love the wind-down end of the day yoga video you can get free on yogajournal.com. It is only 20 minutes and relaxing!
I hear you about stress.

Same scenario for me. I was at the breaking point when I joined a gym - One of those cheaper, simpler ones. I didn't want to commit to a huge fitness center in case I hated it. It absolutely worked wonders. All my physical stress symptoms went away (hives-heartburn-headaches) and a huge chunk of mental strain eased as well. My time is limited (assume your's is too). But I only go 4-5 times a week for about an hour. I don't measure myself against a scale...I don't go for weight loss purposes and so I think I haven't experienced the frustration and procrastination that some people face when going to the gym.
But I also have become fond of a recent ritual my husband introduced. On some random evening (I imagine he picks a night when he senses our lives are getting a bit crazy), my husband brings me a glass of wine and the cribbage board. The kids go to bed and the tv goes off. Aaaaah!

Hi M.,
This is a very important question and the answer will most likely depend on what you prefer. There are physical methods such as working out, psychological techniques such as progressive relaxation, or some of the more recent ones like retail therapy (as long as it does not put you into financial stress).
