United or Regions for Delivery

I just found out that St John's where I was planning to deliver is not in my network. Yikes!!!! I am due in 5 weeks and have to make a quick decision here. Both United and Regions is not too far and in my network.
I watched theirlittle online videos and will hopefully go on tours. But I would like to hear from other Mom's. I am used to staying in one room for birth and after delivery ( i had both my girls at St John's). Both Regions and United move you after the birth? How are the birthing rooms and post-natal rooms? Do they have private bathrooms with bath tubs?
Any info is appreciated.
Thanks,
S.

What can I do next?

I delivered at Regions and it was WONDERFUL. We toured many other hospitals but felt the most comfortable at Regions. I delivered by midwife, but pain medication was always an option. The rooms and care and food were wonderful, I liked the view of the gardens out the window, and moving to the recovery room was not a big deal at all. The birth center is relatively new and the facilities just seemed so clean and warm and inviting.

United. Dr K. Mikkelson. She is wonderful.

S., I delivered both of my girls at United. I had very good experiences both times. I had to move from the delivery room to my post-natal room, but it was not a big deal and I was never rushed. The rooms are fine, nothing fancy. The post-natal rooms do have a private bathroom and tub. My birthing room did not have a tub but it did have a private bathroom. The most important thing to me is that the nursing staff was just wonderful both times. They were caring, supportive and knowledgeable. If I have a 3rd child, I will go back to United again. Also, hopefully you will never need it, but United is connected to Children's Hospital. I liked knowing that if my baby had problems and was sent to Children's, I'd be at the same place.

United! I have delivered at other hospitals, but by far United had the much better staff. The facilities are nice. But it is the staff that trumps all.

I was at Regions for my first delivery...Nurses would not give me any drugs until i was further along. Besides that, delivery room was good, after delivery room was good...the bed was the softest I have ever had in my life!! Like heaven!!

I have also delivered at St Johns....Regions is different as it in the city. I had to go in through the emergency room on a Friday night and kind of scary!! Delivery room is on other side, so once in it is okay. They are very safety conscious, I thought unlike St Johns. They have an alarm on the door and a bracelett on your baby in case anyone takes out of the area. And each staff shows you an Id everytime they come to help you.

I think Regions is top-notch, just very different than St Johns (the nurses didnt bug me so much after delivery...at Regions I swear they were in there every hour!) Now this is 8 years ago...things may be different.

I delivered at Regions and it was wonderful! I had a completely natural birth and it was not questioned at all. They supported everything I wanted. I walked around the hospital as much as I liked, went down to the cafeteria to eat, and was on all fours until my son's head crowned. The rooms are private with private bathrooms and tubs. It was very comfortable and safe, and the staff were also great! It was the perfect setting and perfect birth, and I hope to have another one there some day.
