I am looking for ideas for party favors for a baby shower for my cousin. She is having a girl. I am trying to come up with something a little more unique than candy or candles. Any ideas? Thanks.

Partyfavors.com. YOu can buy them from them, or just peruse the site and maybe steal one of their ideas if you are creative.

For my sister's baby shower I made cute little picture frames.. You can buy them too. Then I made copies of her ultra sound picture and put those in the frame. We sent out cute pictures of the baby when he was born to replace the ultra sound. But at the party everyone thought it was so cute.
Just a thought.
Have a wonderful party.

My sister, for my baby shower, individually wrapped small bottles of Purel (waterless soap) in cute little bags. Everyone really liked it, including me, because I ended up with a bunch for the changing table and to have around the house.
Another good idea is to make small recipe books with easy to make meals.

For my sister's shower I gave out baby picture frames that were inscribed with a little poem about the baby. I ordered them online, but I can't remember the name of the company (this was five years ago). They weren't that expensive and they were a HUGE hit and had some people getting teary-eyed over the poem. You could always buy some inexpensive baby frames and find a poem online to put in it. Also, for the centerpieces I bought a bunch of full size baby lotions, powders, bath wash, shampoo, etc. and tied three balloons around them. Then when the shower was over, my sister had a bunch of baby stuff. My sister did the same thing for my shower and we didn't have to buy any of that stuff for over a year! Good luck and HAVE FUN! :-)

I love this sort of planning. Here are some ideas:

*eye pillows--you can make them easily and quickly by ordering the lavender, etc. in bulk online. I made favor bags for the overnight guests at my wedding, and this was a big hit

*If you have access to an MaryKay consultant, get the travel/mini satin hands sets or hand lotions. Add a saying like, "Satin Hands for Caring Hands"...

*Find or make the standing picture holders with clip and add a 2X2 picture of the mom-to-be and dad

*If there is anything she has craved during her pregnancy, play off of this. For example, an ice cream scoop for ice cream cravings.

* Use dollar store baby bottles filled with pink m&m's

*Make CD's of favorite songs that have a mom-theme

Hope these help or trigger you to think of something you like.

Best Wishes

It may not be the right season, but a friend of mine gave out little flowers in pots that you could watch grow as the baby grew. I thought that was a cute idea. Good luck.

I had a nursery-rhyme themed baby shower for my friend. I gave out picture frames, each with a different nursery rhyme in it. They also served as really cute decorations during the party. An activity we did was to use fabric paint to paint plain white onsies with nursery rhyme pictures. I provided lots of pictures and books to copy from.

Also, if you want to hire it out, I have a friend who creates personalized favor bags (filled or not, paper or cloth) for parties. Let me know if you'd like her information. She can include all sorts of things from personalized cds to picture frames.

Have fun!

At my cousin's shower, they took small picture frames and put baby pictures of him & his wife when they were small. We all got one and now you have an extra small frame!

My friend once told me about a Boo Boo Bunny she had gotten at one once. I actually went online to order one for myself because they are so cute for anyone with little kids. Here are 2 websites I found them at, and they will tailor them to the baby shower by colors, ribbons, ect. I think it's a very cool and useful favor.

My sister and mom gave out plants for party favors. I still have my plant and will remember this date forever, or however long I keep the plant alive!! It has been 12 years and is still growing. They got little clay pots and put small plants, the ones that grow anywhere.
Good luck with the shower!

Hi C.-

I have used the following a couple of times and gotten some nice compliments. I purchased the 4 ounce baby bottles, bath salts or crystals (in pink or blue), some pink ribbons and diaper pins. I put the bath stuff in the baby bottles, put the ribbons around the top and closed them with the diaper pins. They are cute and the bath salts are a little different than the usual. Hope its a good party!

Here's an idea that I used for a baby shower. We used part of our floral decorations as the giveaways. We painted apples to match the colors of the shower. Then we cored the apples so that they could hold some flowers. For the flowers, you just gather a small amount and tape together with the green florist tape. Our flowers for the apples was mostly filled with baby's breath which is inexpensive. The apples were then placed throughout the areas of the shower, like by the book for people to sign their personal note to the mom-to-be.

We even used a large mirror (taken from a bathroom) and had that placed down the center of the buffet table. (We had a table cloth and tulle that matched our colors over the table.) On the mirror, we had a large floral arrangement, a bunch of the apple floral arrangements and some simple votive candles. I must say, it looked pretty awesome. Everyone loved the apple idea and couldn't believe how creative it was.

The apples should be able to hold some water, but ours didn't. The apple sugar and the water is to keep the flowers for a couple of days.

We liked the idea b/c the apples were used as decorations and as giveaways. It turned out beautifully.

It does sound pretty involved, but it wasn't that bad. You can paint the apples a week before your shower. We sponged them. You could then put together your flower arrangements, taped together a day or two ahead of the shower. Anyway, it is something different. If you want, I could send you a picture, if you can do it through the board.

Good luck!

For my cousin's baby shower, we gave out little piggy banks. If you are having a large amount of people attending, you can buy enough so you have one for each table and use them as a weight for balloons, then give them as a raffle gift, or give them to other expecting mothers on the group. You can also get candle or soap gift baskets to raffle off and tell the guests to bring a package of diapers (size does not matter) in order to be entered into the raffle. This way the new mom has lots of diapers to start with (we all know how much money that saves) and she can choose a brand that works for her since she will probably get a wide variety! Good Luck!

Is she going with a theme for the room, for my sister, she went with winnie the pooh, so we made little honey pots, my younger sister loves ducks, so we got the little rubber ducks and wrapped them in tule with candy, for me, we made boo boo bunnies out of washclothes. If she has a theme, you should try to work off of that, if she does have a theme and you need ideas, let me know, I come from a crafty family.

One of the activities we did at my shower that was too fun was we bought a bunch of onsies and rubber stamps and everyone decorated a shirt for my baby, I still have them 4 years later, they were too cute to through away., Just an idea if you need one!
