Ugly Feet :(

I know this is probably so superficial, but I'm embarrassed by my ugly feet. My toenails have always grown funny at weird angles, my heels are crusty and dry, and I even grow a few hairs on the top of my toes :( Flip flop weather is coming and I am pregnant and can't reach the damn things. I am too embarrassed to get a pedicure, because of how winterized my feet look, lol. So what would make me feel better id for other woman to tell me they also have hideous feet and they go get pedicures and the poor woman who do their toes don't faint. I have a good girl friend who has a shop and she keeps wanting me to come for a free pedi, and I keep blowing it off because I think I need to prep the darn things 1st.

What can I do next?

I feel ya! I used to take such good care of my feet- used to! In my are pedis are exspensive and im never satisfied. I went to walgreens and bought a pedegg and I get down to scrubbing my feet myself. It is ten bucks and well worth it. Then get you a bottle of red polish and paint those t
oe nails! If you can't reach get that husband to help you out!

Hahhaaa! This could be my post. I have been avoiding a pedi because I am pregnant and can't reach my feet for a "pre-pedi". My plan is to go somewhere super cheap and get one. De[ending upon how embarrassed I feel, I may never go back! THEN I am going to go see my friend who has a shop for a real, pampering pedi.

Thanks for giving me a laugh today :)

You have not seen ugly feet until you've seen mine. I'm not kidding. They belong in a Grimm fairy tale.

For Mother's day, I took my mom to get a pedicure. I inherited my feet from her. Imagine, TWO sets of ugly feet to chisel, sand and hammer. Yikes.

Surprisingly, they didn't reject us. In fact, they didn't even grimace, which shocked me. We left a big tip and with much prettier toes. Go treat yourself mama. Even ugly feet deserve pampering.

Well, L., in a few more weeks, you won't be able to even SEE your own feet, so why fret.

Pregnant women are very beautiful, you are in your most womanly natural state, if I walked past you in the grocery store I would smile at you warmly and openly, feet and all!

Absolutely go for the free pedi, but if you'll feel better about yourself physically AFTER the baby's born, save it for then!

Congrats and feel GORGEOUS, you ARE fantastic!

:)

I have seen worse, get a pedicure and rub some coconut oil on your feet at night to make them soft after you get them done. Also have them wax the tops of your feet for you while they are at it. A lot of women have hair on the top of their feet, they get them waxed or shave them. You are not alone, but I think no matter whose foot it is I think feet are stinky and smelly and don't know why there are people out there with feet fetishes. Just my opinion, but there are worse feet out there and I have seen them, and had to massage them. So treat yourself to something nice. You deserve it mama.

The people who do pedicures have seen everything! Don't worry about it.
Shea butter should help the crustiness.

The Lord blessed you with your feet . You can now bless yourself for a over-due pamper.....

These ladies have seen it all and they will not make you feel bad for your insecure feet. They are probably just fine.... and they can be pretty...

My peers made fun of my big feet for many many years of HS. It really made me self-absorb on ugliness to my feet. I learned to just be me and love what I was blessed with..... It was a journey, but you can do it !

I had horrible really HORRIBLE heels...and the quickest solution I found for them was to slather a nice thick coat of vaseline on my heels at night. put a pair of white cotton socks on and just let the vaseline do it's softening magic while I sleep!!!
And for heaven sakes go for that free pedicure!!! Believe me...your feet are no worse than others that they have worked on before and probably better than most!!!

Please get a pedicure! I was a nail technician for 6 years and I have seen the prettiest and most hideous feet. Yours probably aren't as ugly as you think! I have seen gross, cottage cheese like, substance in between toes! And toenails that haven't been touched in years, let alone cleaned.

You will feel beautiful, and will love looking at your feet in flipflops! Trust me! You don't need to prep them! Just sit back and relax and enjoy the experience!

Hi L.,

My best friend in college used to manage a shoe store....she told me NO ONE has pretty feet, NO ONE. I giggled when she told me about people that thought their feet were pretty and were not.

That being said, use moisturizing creme on your heals, shave your toes ( a lot of women do) and go get your pedi.

I have a dear friend that goes to the beach with us each summer...She's a doll....but she has webbed toes on both feet :) Please don't worry about them. They keep you upright....that's what they were made for!

God bless,

M.

get the pedicure. There are also thede pedicure gel socks. Basically a sock that has a gel coating that kind of melts on your feet and really moisurizes, getting rid (at least temporarily) of scaly crusty nasty dry feet. They are actually called something like get rid of nasty feet... I bought them as a stocking stuffer for myself & daughters. THEY WORK!!! put them on after a bath, and go to bed, wake up with pretty soft pink feet. They are good for 3 months and washable (yet the gel moisterizers remain, weird!)

Get the free pedi! Don't worry about it. I have seen little old men come into nail salons with toenails that are 10 inches (exaggerating a little) long. The manicurists have dealt with way worse than yours.

Enjoy!

My nail lady is also my friend and she does manicures and pedicures for me. I personally hate pedicures -- they make me very uncomfortable. I just don't like people touching my feet. But I do go because it's good for my feet. I also have some weird hairs here and there, and a bunion and my feet qualify as ugly. But my nail lady says everybody's feet are ugly and she has seen it all! Go get yourself a pedi and don't worry about how they look! Your nail lady has seen it all too!

Just go get the pedicure! You might be amazed at how your feet look and feel afterwards. If you have a friend offering this free service, it would be silly not to take her up on it. You should get the warm wax treatment. It does wonders and feels SO good! They might even be able to help shape your toenails or use polish in such a way that it minimizes what you feel is so obvious.
I don't think your feet are the worst they've ever seen or worked on. When my daughter was in cosmetology school, they used to bring in old folks for pedicures and you could tell these people hadn't had their feet cared for in years.

Treat yourself and do it. You'll be glad you did!

Just go get a pedicure for cryin out loud! Our feets look so much cuter with the nice little french paint. It's that time of year and all of our winterized feets are hitting the salons at the same time. Just give the poor girl or guy that does it a FAT tip for the gross out :)

Gosh I wish you lived here. There is a guy here that prides himself on making women's feet beautiful. He gets his face all up in there and scrapes, and cuts and polished everything. His feet and leg massages are to die for. He actually uses sculpting tools on the nails. It takes him about an hour and a half to get it all done. .

Nothing phases him. He is like an artist and he charges like it too.

He would speak with you about how he has never seen really ugly feet, only feet that have been neglected for a while.
His name is Alex Rendahl.

Go get the pedi you deserve it.

You have made me feel so much better! I have physically ugly feet. My toes are long and weird looking and I wear flats in the summer so that I don't have to look at them. The thought of somebody being subjected to polishing them gives me the heebie-jeebies.

However, after reading your post and the responses, I may just go treat myself and I think you should too! Congrats on your baby! Now go let your friend pamper you!

People who do pedicures are like gynecologists - they've seen it all and nothing really shocks them!

Go get the free pedicure. If you can afford it, go every other week to deal with the dry, crusty heels. Shave the toes if you need to. They're not going to freak out about it.

the pedi will take care of the hard heels, and if you get them routinely it will help keep them soft. i've also used the pediegg (from bed bath beyond and infomercials). that works pretty well to get it started.

old housewife trick bath your feet in vaseline and put sock on - do ti when you sleep and it will keep your feet soft.

i get peds about once every 6 weeks - and go for a polish change only every 2 weeks for the weeks inbetween - a polish change only - they will pluck any hairs they see (if you tell the too). and help the tonails keep shape as the grow in.
