Trying to Have a Baby - Cartersville,GA

My husband of 7 years and I are trying to have a baby. I need ideas on what to do to increase our chances. I would also like to get some ideas on great ways to tell him that I'm pregnant WHEN WE SUCCEED.

You could give him a "congratulations on being a new daddy" card... you know, or one of those "a baby? how grand!" type of things. =) Good luck to you- what an exciting time! We have a 5 month old, and when we were trying for her, we tried all the stuff about timing it right, skipping days, etc... took MUCH longer to conceive her than it did my other two.The month that it worked out for us, I was doing the ovulation sticks and the weekend that I knew I was ovulating, we just basically spent in bed. (Now we have a good memory AND a new baby! lol) Some good resources are here: http://www.early-pregnancy-tests.com/ but I'd say, don't get too hung up on all of that, just enjoy your husband and hope for the best!

Like it has already been mentioned-see your ob/gyn and discuss your options with him/her. That is THE best thing to do. Secondly, if you haven't already begin to prepare your mind, boody, and soul. Meaning, clean out your system and begin to eat healthy foods. The first step in becoming pregnant is to prepare your body and a healthy body is a great way to start.

A good way to tell him would be to buy some little baby things (socks, hats, rattle, etc) and place then around the house. Sort of like a little scavenger hunt and make little clue cards for him. Another way is to play charades and have him guess what you are acting act. Like you could act out that you are having back pains or walk all swayed back. Hope this helps. Good luck to you and your husband!~

Well I don't have suggestions to help getting pregnant.. But,I think giftwrapping some blue and pink baby booties (or other baby item) and giving it to a spouse over a romantic dinner is a nice way to give the news. You could also make up a fake birth announcement on the computer and give it to him. Show up to his work place w/ a blue and pink balloon bunch! I hope you will get prego soon and can have a chance to excite your hubbie with some Good News! :-)

First off I think that if you believe you may have a conception problem then you should see ur doctor to discuss options. Just like with anything else it's easy to get caught up in "quick fixes" on getting pregnant. And as far as idea for how to tell him you should probably wait till it happens rather than getting ahead of yourself and putting more pressure on urself to concieve quickly. Believe me, I remember what it was like to imagine what would happen and how special it would be to get pregnant but I also know how heart breaking that can be when it doesnt happen fast enough, especially if u get into taking a pregnancy test every month.

Natural Family Planning is a great method to ensure you are trying at the right time. cervical mucus is prominant when you are ovulating.(wet when you wipe that is not pee). We were pregnant immediatly when we wanted to by using Rythmic, Cervical Mucus, and Basal Body Tempeture method (natural family planning) It's just a plus all around to know your body.

Hi M.

It looks like you've got plenty of good ideas already on the conception and pratice practice practice. Unfortunately after 5 years of my husband and I trying everything in the book, and some of the suggestions below, and operations, natural and otherwise. We were eventually told that between his and my issues, that we were unable to have a baby. So we ended up adopting a little girl from Guatemala. We love our daughter as much as I do my first two natural conceived children.

Here's an idea. Once you've been blessed

Wrap a gift for him, when he opens it could be a baby item, or congratulations your a Daddy.

Or

Leave baby items for him to find in places you know he will be.

Good Luck

The suggestion for getting your body ready is excellent, by eating healthy (particularly organic) foods. Also when we were trying for our first, it took 5 months to get pregnant. The month before I got pregnant, my husband started wearing boxers, and we were pregnant 3 weeks later. We knew then when trying for our second child for him to wear boxers, and I got pregnant in 6 weeks.

The way I told him about our second child was I wrapped the pregnancy test stick, and put it in a gift bag. I had our then 17 month old daughter carry it to her daddy. He was still asleep, so it was a really nice wake up call for him!

Good luck with everything! I wish you and your family all the best.
