Trying to Get Pregnant - Ovulation Kit Results
Hello - My husband and I are trying to get pregnant, and I have been doing an ovulation kit daily. Today was the first day that we had a positive result, where the 2 lines were the same color. So if we want to conceive a boy should we start today or wait a day before we try?
Thanks for all your advice.

Google the Shettles Method. I have found that a lot of people have had postivie results with this method but I also know that it takes a little while to do everything they reccommned such as the diet, ovulation charting, and acidic tests. Good luck!!!

LOL :) My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for five years and it hasn't worked. You should have sex when you see the positive result. There's really no way to increase your chances of getting a boy or girl, so you should just roll the dice and be happy with the wonderful, healthy child that nature gives you!

I got a positive ovulation test at noon, had sex late at night that night and had a girl nine months later. Wait a little longer. I think you can up the chances of getting a boy this time (for those who have never heard about this look up "The Shettles Method") I'm sure you had no intention of hurting anyone who is having trouble conceiving and understand that your next baby will be a blessing no matter the sex! You are allowed to have a preference. I have two girls and would choose a boy next time, if I could, but of course I would love another little girl just as madly as I love my other two, if that's how it goes. God gave us fertility signs (not OPKs, I guess) so what's wrong with reading them to try to influence the outcome. Good Luck!

First you say you want to get pregnant then you say you want a boy. So if you do concieve and it's a girl are you not going to keep it ? Sorry to sound so gruff but any child regardless of sex is a miracle and maybe you will be blessed with another daughter. I would love to ave another child of any sex they are our future and I really miss having a small child in my home.Good luck.

I don't think it's wrong to hope for one specific sex. It doesn't mean that you won't love a girl as much as you already love the one you already have. I just wanted to comment because I thought a few of the other comments were sort of rude.
Anyways, I've heard about the Chinese birth calendar. It's set up where it checks your age and what year of the month it is and on certain months if you were to get pregnant it would be a specific sex. I've actually heard of a lot of people who it was accurate for them.
Good luck on trying and trying to figure out the ovulation details!

The said on "The Doctors" today that if you want a boy you should eat more - espically breakfast. They said it works.

Any pregnancy is a good pregnancy, whether boy or girl. When I first got married, I thought, "Oooh, I want a boy because my husband's an only child and so is his father...that would keep the family line going if we have boy!" (Well, the truth of the matter is the family line keeps going even if there's a girl!) It wasn't until we got ready to do the sonogram to find out the gender that I thought, "You know what, I don't care if the baby is a boy or girl...we're still having a baby!" Of course, we had trouble conceiving, so by that point we were happy to be pregnant.
There is a book called "How to choose the sex of your baby" - or something like that. I don't know if it works or not, but the person who lent it to me believed it did as she had 2 kids, and tried to "time it" so she'd have a boy and she did.
Hope everything works out for you guys! Good luck!
