We will be taking a family vacation soon and I'm concerned that my son will have a hard time on the plane because his ears will need to pop. Does anyone know of anything that I can give him for his ears while on the plane? Or is something that I will just have to deal?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

By the way I would really like to thank everyone that gave me advice on my previous request. All of the input helped and my son now has 2 bottom teeth

hi J.,
yes!!!! they are one of the only things that does work. the homeopathic drops work as well, i think they are made of the same ingredients. they help take the edge off so that they can get back to sleep. i just gave some to my 5 1/2 month old before her nap. she was doing the same thing.
i have sworn by these tablets...since my now seven year old son.
good luck to you and your little one

The Hylands teething tablets (got mine at RiteAid I think) seem to work the best in that they disolve the fastest, I got another brand that just kinda sat there in my son's mouth and then he would just spit them out after a minute :), also the Gentle Naturals drops(got them at Target I think) seem to work as well, but honestly, I think the tablets and drops are both just a distraction in a way to take his mind off of the pain- I am not sure how well they actually "suppress" the pain, anyway, I use a combo of both tablets and drops - if he is really hurting I give him Tylenol or a really soft cool teething ring to chew on, if he uses a pacifier, you can also stick that in the fridge before you give it to him- my son really like that....my son is 5 1/2 months and just got his first tooth in after 1 1/2 months of teething !!! GOOD LUCK!

Between the otter pops and the orajel it was no wonder he was up tossing and turning. Orajel seems to be more annoying than helpful and otter pops are full of stuff a 6mos old shouldn't be eating. Read the ingredients, I'm sure they have dyes, high frutcose corn syrup & other arificial stuff in it. When my son was younger it seemed he couldn't tolerate red dye #40.

Hyland teething tablets seemed to help my second child and if it didn't he got tylenol.

Hope he is feeling better soon,
M.

what my daughters dr said to do with my daughter was to give her tylenol every 4 hours. but if you dont want to do that (i know i felt like i was drugging her but she was bad bad getting her first teeth). what i found that also worked amazing wonders was the gentle naturals teething drops! you only have to give them every 2 hours and they last longer then the tablets and origel. what i did with my daughter was gave her the teething drops and tylenol in the moring and then the drops durring the day and then the combo again at night and that helped sooooo much! she also liked to chew on refrigerated teething rings (dont freeze them they can cause frost bite in your babies mouth) also she liked to have her gums brushed (i used baby origel tooth and gum cleaner). good luck! i hope this was helpful!

When my son started teething my DR recommend spraying chloraseptic sore throat med on my finger and rubbing it on his gums, worked like a charm! I have also heard of teething tablets but I never used them. You can also take a wash cloth and wet it then freeze, makes it easy for them to hold on to. Good luck!
