Travel Toddler Bed

We have been fortunate that my son has comfortably slept in his pack-n-play through his second birthday, but it's starting to be a tight squeeze! We will be transitioning him into a toddler bed at some point this summer and are looking to invest in some kind of portable/travel toddler bed! Any suggestions would be great- including models to avoid!

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! We are looking for something to travel with- we have family within driving distance that we visit regularly. I checked out the One Step Ahead air mattress and ordered it! He has a convertible style crib that goes from crib to toddler and then to a double bed, so we are set at home!

Go right to a regular bed. Do not think a traveling toddler bed exists.
Yes, there are things to be used when you travel, but not anything I would
want my child to sleep on every night. I think toddler beds are a waste
of money. My kids went to a regular twin bed (I even ordered xtra long
because I knew they would be very tall, now 6'5" and 6'3") I bought
good mattresses and they lasted until they moved out. The girls got regular
twin beds. Good luck.

I'm not sure about any portable toddler beds but we have used a blow up mattress and it works great. It's compact and can be easily put up and taken down. You can take it in the car or on a plane. If you're looking for advice on the toddler bed, I suggest going straight to a twin or full size bed, but that's just me!

... are you looking for the portable/travel toddler bed... for transitioning him to a "bed" or just for traveling???

If just for home, I would just get a twin bed. Toddler beds are fine, but eventually you will need a regular twin bed.

One Step Ahead sells a blow up twin mattress that has sides to keep the kids from rolling out and comes with a nice soft cover. It works great.

I like the blow-up sleeping bags. The kids LOVE them. Cheap and totally portable.
