Travel Bed - Newport News, VA

Consumer Reports seems to like the Evenflo Baby Go Portable play yard. We are looking for something light weight, easy to pack, and safe for our 4 month old to sleep in for trips. What are your suggestions?

What can I do next?

Pack and Plays are absolutly great I have one for my 21 month old and one for my 2 month old I cant imagine not having them availible. They are easy to use and clean.

I know I'm a little late with a suggestion but... I have a pack and play I thought I would take on trip to Texas for my 2 month old(at the time) but it was to heavy and bulky and we would have had too many bags for the airline(my husband's and my suitcase, stroller, and carseat). So we ended up using our bigger suitcase as her "bed"!!! We made sure it was comfy for her and she had no problem sleeping in it. It also made for some great pictures to show her when she is older!!! Now that my daughter is 4 months old, I wouldn't hesitate to use this method again on future trips. Think of it this way-One less thing to carry!!

I think any Graco Pack & Play would be fine. Also, if you're staying in a hotel, most of them use these pack & plays now, too. Ask for one when you make your reservations. :)

I've used the Graco pack n play for when we travel since my daughter was about a week and half old. She has slept in it with no problem. The pack n play is light and easy to set up and take down. Hope this helps.

i always just traveled with a folding bed rail---the kind that has pieces that tuck under the mattress. i put a name tag on it and it was all we needed, apart from diapers and a car seat. it folded up small enough to be strapped to a suitcase or backpack, and made things very easy.

I have owned both Graco and Evenflo pack and play things, and honestly, if they hadn't had the brand labeled on them everywhere, I wouldn't have noticed a difference. They both preform very well, and last forever. They come with all different kinds of features (bassinet, changing station, mobile...) but at 4 months, your baby is too big for the bassinet, so skip it; you can use a bed or the floor for changes; and most of the mobiles aren't entertaining anyway. Find out which one is lightest, or find a pattern you like, or go by price. Pretty much whatever you choose will work great.

One Step Ahead has some great products. We have taken both the blow up mattress and the roll-up mattress with us on plane trips. I prefer the blow-up mattress to the roll-up mattress (less bulky) but both work well for our son -- he was able to take naps on both and sleep through the night on both.
